While we know that Rome wasn't built in a day, we're pretty sure the Romans built it quicker than it's taken Take-Two Interactive to release GTA 6.
Some 12 years after GTA V raced into our lives and became the biggest video game of all time, we're eagerly looking ahead to GTA 6.
The long-running Grand Theft Auto franchise is a Goliath of the gaming scene and beyond, and although Rockstar Games used to churn them out, GTA 6 is nowhere to be seen.

Aside from a single record-breaking trailer back in December 2023, we've had no further reveals about what to expect when he head back into Vice City in 2025.
At least Take-Two has repeatedly confirmed that GTA 6 will definitely release in 2025, but as the months go on and that supposed 'fall' release date approaches, you can't blame us for being a little concerned.

According to Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, there's a specific reason GTA 6 doesn't have a release date yet...and you're not going to like it.

In a video shared by Bloomberg Television, Zelnick explained: "We found that the better thing to do is to provide marketing materials relatively close to the release window in order to create that excitement on the one hand and balance the excitement with unmet anticipation.
"I don't always get it right, but that's what we're trying to do."
Even though it's good news that a looming delay is the reason why we haven't heard a peep from GTA 6, it's frustrating that a lack of updates is simply a marketing plot from those up high.
Angry at Zelnick's cavalier response, angry gamers took to Reddit to vent their frustrations. One wrote: "Basically this company has all of us by the balls is what he meant."

Another added: "That strategy is pretty frustrating. Some screenshots wouldn't kill nobody you know...."

And a third said: "It seems like Rockstar devs could sh*t in a bucket and write "gta vi" on it and people would buy it at this point."
It's also not great for other developers, with many said to be actively avoiding releasing their games anywhere near GTA 6. There are even fears that it could damage the gaming industry. At the moment, we're lost in a sea of frustrating rumors about everything from release dates to massive price tags, and whether it will even release on PC.
Still, with GTA 6 poised to eclipse its predecessor and make $1 billion in pre-orders alone, Take-Two can afford to be a little smug. No matter when GTA 6 releases, it's sure to be another one for the history books. Still, we'd like to know the release date so at least we can book a week off work.
