Nostalgia is a powerful thing, and in today’s world, retro collectables are hotter than ever.
From classic CDs and DVDs to original gaming consoles and decade-defining tech gadgets, people are paying top dollar for pieces of the past.
So, if you’ve got old boxes tucked away in the attic, it might be time to sift through your stash as you could be sitting on some good money.

Just look at one woman who bought a garage worth of DVDs and sold them for three figures or eBay listings for some original (sealed) Resident Evil games.
The 90s were a golden era for gaming, bringing us some of the most iconic consoles of all time, like the Sony PlayStation and Sega Dreamcast to the Super Nintendo and Game Boy Color. And, of course, we can’t forget the Nintendo 64.

Released in 1996 in Japan and North America, and later in 1997 for Europe and Australia, the Nintendo 64 was a game-changer (literally).

It introduced 3D graphics that blew everything else out of the water and was home to some of the most iconic games ever made, like Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart 64, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Now, one eBay seller has listed the '1997 Original Nintendo 64 N64 Vintage Video Game Console New - VGA 90Q' with an eye-watering price.
What was once sold on the shelves for $199 is now being resold for $21,000.00 (approx £16,600). Wow!
They've also added a $10 shipping cost if that price alone wasn't enough to drop your jaw to the floor.

The listing description reads: "Experience the nostalgia of the 1997 Original Nintendo 64 N64 Vintage Video Game Console. This gray console with a sleek design is a must-have for gaming enthusiasts." So, if you happen to have tens of thousands to spare, this might just be the ultimate nostalgia purchase for you.

It's also worth noting that some Nintendo 64 games are particular sought after like Banjo-Kazooie and Wave Race 64. One sealed copy of Bomberman Hero is going for over £200 whilst a sealed copy of Pokémon Puzzle League is going for £400.
To date, the N64 has sold an impressive 32.93 million units, making it one of the best-selling consoles of all time. However, it was quickly overshadowed by the PlayStation 1, which surpassed 100 million sales in late 1996.

Still, the N64 steadily sold on the market for seven years before being discontinued in 2002. The legendary Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 was the last ever game released for the console.
