It turns out that there are certain warning signs to look out for that your phone is about to kick the bucket.
Here are the telltale pointers to watch out for:
The battery drains quickly
If your phone battery is dropping rapidly then this is a major sign that your phone hasn’t got long left.

If you notice this happening then it could be time to replace the battery or get a new smartphone.
The screen is starting to glitch
If you find that your display freezes or glitches out, then the phone might be nearing its end.
Touch screens degrade over time and issues like this could mean that you need a new screen.

But sometimes it's simpler - and cheaper - to just replace the phone altogether.
Your phone randomly restarts
If your phone is starting to randomly switch off while you’re in the middle of doing something and restarts, then this could be a bad sign.
There might be a simple explanation for it but if it keeps happening, then it might be time for an upgrade.

The device overheats
If your smartphone starts to overheat regularly then this likely means that parts within the phone are past the point of normal wear and tear.
Your phone is becoming slow
Most tech seems to get slower the older it gets and your phone is no different.

If your device is taking ages to load a page or type out a sentence, then it might be time to accept its fate and swap it for a newer model.
It no longer receives updates
If you can’t get the latest operating system updates then it’s only a matter of time that you’ll need an upgrade.
This is because you’ll become more and more limited with what apps you can access.
Your screen moves without touching it
It’s an issue known as ghost touch, when your phone acts erratically without you touching it.

It can be due to a range of problems including water damage.
One fix could be to replace the screen protector in case it’s being caused by dust under it.
But if that doesn’t work then it might be time to replace.
