iPhone users are being warned that there’s a bizarre iOS bug which will crash your device immediately if you type out these four characters.
The strange error is causing chaos for some Apple fans whose phones are randomly crashing.
The bug occurs when four particular characters are typed out in two specific parts of the phone.

The characters are: “”::
If you type them out in the search bar of the settings app or in the search bar of the library search, then it’ll crash the device’s system.
However, don’t panic if this does happen, because luckily the bug doesn’t cause any lasting damage or major issues for the phone.

It’ll briefly crash, causing the screen to go black before reloading. A buffering wheel will appear for a while until finally your lock screen reappears.
Experts speaking to TechCrunch have said that the bug isn’t something that users should worry too much about, they don’t believe that it’s a security issue or something that could be serious.
However, this isn’t the first time that iPhones have been found to crash for strange reasons.

Apple users discovered back in 2015 that certain text strings could trigger issues on the “messages” app of their phone.
Pranksters ended up sending the line of text to people and the only way that the phone could be unlocked was if the sender sent another message to them.
In 2018, another issue with crashing occurred when sending an Indian language (Telugu) character that would temporarily stop the phone from working.
That being said, the latest release of iOS 17.6.1 has sorted out the latest round of bugs involving iCloud.

The newer version means that the enabling and disabling of Advanced Data Protection can be prevented in order for users to keep their personal information, including photos and texts, safe.
The little pesky bug has meant that hackers could be able to worm their way in, with a small number of iPhone owners reported to have been impacted.
And those affected have reportedly found an error message when trying to switch on Advanced Data Protection, as per The Sun.

On the other hand, others found that when they tried to turn it off, they found it showing up as disabled even though iCloud was still running it.
So, the latest update fixes all of this mess - as according to Apple: “This update includes important bug fixes and addresses an issue that prevents enabling or disabling Advanced Data Protection.”
