There's a reason why the internet is flooded with memes mocking the insane strength of Nokia phones. Because it's true.
The indestructible phones are built like a brick and stay intact when dropped (hard) from any height.
However, a recent video on Reddit put the legendary toughness of the retro Nokia phone to the ultimate test against a hydraulic press.

After watching the video, it seems as though the tank-like phone found its match, leaving viewers in utter awe.
On the video, posted on r/BeAmazed, 3000 kg (three tonnes) of force was exerted from the hydraulic press onto the Nokia phone but to viewers' surprise, the Nokia 3310 held on and did not lose form.
It wasn't until the force reached around ten tonnes that the phone began to buckle under the pressure.

Finally, the climax of the video featured the phone finally squashed under the immense pressure of around 39,000 kg.
To see a Nokia phone break in my lifetime, I can now say that I've seen it all!
The original Nokia 3310 was released in September 2000 and, to date, is still one of the best-selling phones of all time, according to Nokia.
Before smartphones, there wasn't really much you could do with your mobile phone except text and call people - oh, and of course spend hours trying to beat your high score on Snake.

Even though the super strength of Nokia phones is quite common knowledge, especially in the digital world, the video's results still managed to surprise viewers. One comment read: '3 tons, and it barely deformed. Wow.'
In regard to the strength of the phone, one Redditor whimsically questioned: 'why don't people build houses with nokias?'
A large portion of people expected the Nokia to win the fight and for the hydraulic press to break instead. So much so that it's causing viewers to believe the video might be fake, with one saying: 'Obviously fake, the press didn't break...'

Meanwhile, another comment suggested that the Nokia shown in the video is most likely one of the 'defective Nokia's.'
Some comments reflected the Nokia phone's exceptional resilience under such enormous pressure, one read: 'Damn, up to 3000 kg, 3 f*ing tons! literally nothing happened to the phone. An elephant (rather a female) can step on it and the thing will still be working.'
Whilst another comment humorously remarked: 'Don't be fooled. This Nokia is still working....'
