Running out of battery is one of the few remaining nightmares in the hyper techy world we live in nowadays.
Phones have improved to the point where almost all of them have great cameras and run nice and smoothly, so for many people, the only real challenge is trying to make sure they actually last through the day.
If you're an iPhone user and are desperate to save on battery, one TikTok tip might just be worth investigating.

The advice came from TikToker @t_sply a couple of years ago and points the spotlight on a little-known feature around your display brightness.
We probably all know that dimming your display can make your iPhone last longer, since less power is needed to use it, but you can actually go further than the normal display brightness slider allows.

As the TikToker explains, if you head to the Settings app and use the search bar at the top to search for 'reduce white point', you'll get to a setting that you might not have known about.
Turning on the 'Reduce White Point' setting will give you access to a new slider showing how intense you'd like the effect to be, and the TikToker recommends turning it up to maximum.
Once this is done, if you access your Control Center to change your brightness as you normally would, you'll notice that the dimmest end of this spectrum is now way, way less bright than it used to be.
In fact, it's so dim that if you reduce the brightness entirely, your screen is basically black (which doesn't feel super helpful to us).

So, the more sensible approach might be to leave the setting on the 80% that it defaults to, which you'll find still massively reduces the display's brightness overall.
This means that the lowest brightness setting can still be readable and useable, but will nonetheless be dim enough to make a potentially meaningful saving on battery life if you stick with it.
People in the comments under the TikTok were quick to point out that it maybe went a little too far on the dimming side of things, with the top comment saying: "Then u can't see nothing."

Others agreed that screen brightness can indeed be a menace, though, with someone else commenting: "Nah it’s still to bright when I wake up at 3 am."
So, while the tip likely won't give you 'limitless' battery - sorry folks, you'll still have to charge your phone - it still clues you in on a feature you probably didn't know about and one that could save you battery life if you use it carefully.
