Apple fans have been urged to ‘buy iPhones now’, as the popular gadget could 'triple in price' under Donald Trump’s controversial new trade policy.
As a consequence of the new tariff imposed on Chinese goods imported to the US (145% at the time of writing), popular tech items such as phones, laptops, smartwatches, and tablets, are predicted to soar in price.
Tech giant, Apple, will be particularly hit hard by these global tariffs, as a large majority of the company's hardware, including chips, are mass produced in China - which will be greatly impacted by the tariffs.

That's because in order to replicate the intricate production system that currently exists in Asia over here in the US, iPhones could cost 'more than three times their current price'.
In a recent interview with CNN, Dan Ives, global head of technology research at financial services firm Wedbush Securities, warned: "You build that (supply chain) in the US with a fab in West Virginia and New Jersey. They’ll be $3,500 iPhones."
If the tariffs impact the value of the dollar, it will soon become more expensive to import iPhones and other cult devices around the world, too - so there may be no escaping the catastrophic global impact.
