Major leaks suggest that Apple's next iPhone could be announced as early as this week, and it'll definitely be one to keep an eye out for if you're a budget-conscious individual.
If there's anything that Apple fans are good at its anticipating a product lineup, and much has already been said about what the tech giant likely has on its upcoming slate in the next few months, from upgraded MacBooks to enhanced iPads.
However, arguably the most anticipated of them all is the long-awaited sequel to the dark horse of the iPhone lineup, and leaks suggest that this new gadget could be announced as early as this week and released later on in the month.
iPhone SE could be revealed this week
According to Apple expert Mark Gurman via Bloomberg, the latest version of the iPhone SE is going to be announced 'in the coming days', with Gurman detailing:

"The company expects to announce the device as early as next week, ahead of it going on sale later in the month, according to people with knowledge on the matter."
He continues on to illustrate that there won't be any company events that you would typically see alongside a new flagship reveal, and instead it'll have the full fanfare of a website launch.

It has been nearly three years since the last iPhone SE launched, and the latest revision promises a significant overhaul to bring the budget device into the 'modern age' of smartphones.

Key to this overhaul is the removal of the home button, the addition of Face ID technology, and the implementation of Apple Intelligence AI software, which the company is pushing heavily in its iOS updates.
How much will iPhone SE 4 cost?
Gurman has indicated that the newest SE will likely settle at around the $500 mark, which is significantly cheaper than its $799 iPhone 16 older sibling, despite being more expensive than the previous version.
This is likely due to the enhanced hardware and software features mentioned before, alongside suggestions of an increased base storage capacity of 128GB.

This would bring the SE in line with budget outputs from Apple's competitors like Google and Samsung, although some still suggest that even with the noted improvements, Apple's budget phone would still fall behind its competitors - especially in the camera department.
Advert
"It's only got a single camera, an outdated 60hz display, and only 128GB of memory for the baseline," outlines one frustrated user on the r/iPhoneSE subreddit, "so anything above 500 will be outrageous considering how much better the competition is."
All will be revealed soon though, so we'll have to hold on to our takes and opinions until we get the full picture.
