Time saving features are always a welcome addition, and while Apple products are already lightning fast, the latest iPhone software update introduces a game changing feature that makes expanding your ecosystem of gadgets that much more streamlined.
Anyone who owns a Macbook or any other product in Apple's Mac lineup will immediately tell you how easy and quick it is to set their device up - especially when compared to a Windows alternative - but now it's somehow just got even simpler.
iOS 18.4 already brought to the table a number of 'essential' features that make downloading it on your iPhone an immediate decision, but one somewhat hidden addition could just be the best of the lot - and perhaps even one of the best new features that Apple has ever introduced.

As reported by Inc, Apple have now introduced the ability to transfer data to a new Mac device from you iPhone or iPad, making an already effortless process even easier to walk yourself through.
All you need to do is make sure that your Mac is running macOS Sequoia 15.4, and your iPhone or iPad are running either iOS 18.4 or iPadOS 18.4 respectively.
From there, you'll simply be able to select the option to transfer data from an iPhone or iPad when you're setting up your new Mac, and it'll transfer all of your existing settings, photos, and other information that'll make the new device feel instantly like your own.

Things like not having to set up the WiFi, Bluetooth devices, display settings, and accessibility features is super helpful, and having all of your notes, photos, and iCloud storage ready to go in a matter of seconds saves you plenty of faffing about.
You will need to go ahead and download any apps that you've downloaded as they don't immediately transfer, but it lets you dive right into the fun and is a great way for first-time Mac buyers already within the Apple ecosystem to feel more at home.
In terms of actually making use of this new feature, you simply need to reach the point in the Mac setup process where it asks if you want to 'Transfer Your Data to this Mac', which is typically found after you set up your preferred language.

From there, simply select the 'Set up with iPhone or iPad' option, and it'll start looking for either device. At this point, you'll want to make sure that the corresponding device that you want to transfer data from is unlocked and has both WiFi and Bluetooth enabled, and then a pop up should shortly appear asking if you want to use your account to 'Set Up New Mac', as indicated by TechRadar.
It then should just be a case of waiting for things to transfer after that, and then once that's done you'll be all ready to go.
