Apple users have been left amazed at an app they never knew existed on their iPhone.

The little-known feature makes grocery shopping super simple and people are surprised that they’re only just finding out about it.

One TikToker took to the platform to reveal that shoppers have been doing everything all wrong when it comes to writing out what they need from the supermarket.

Explaining in a video, the content creator - known online as techgirljen - shared her tips on how to make a quick shopping list before heading to the store.

Jen said: “It's been a while since we've talked about the grocery list feature on your iPhone, but there's been some really cool updates you need to watch.”

She explains that in order to access it, you need to open the Reminders app and scroll down to the bottom before clicking ‘add list’.

She continued: “I'm gonna go ahead and choose iCloud so that I can share it. I'm going to make it a grocery list.

“So let's name it first. Under the list type, I'm gonna choose groceries and I'm gonna go down here and choose my color and choose a shopping cart to make it look fancy.”

A new feature that’s available to enable is called ‘categorize your groceries’ and according to the tech expert, if you turn that on, it’ll categorize the food you write down in your list.”

Viewers of the clip were stunned by the feature, with many not realizing that there was a designated grocery list on the iPhone.

Taking to the comment section to share their reactions, one user wrote: “No more notes app for me!!! I had no idea this existed!!!”

A second said: “HOW LONG HAS THERE BEEN A GROCERIES LIST LIVING IN MY PHONE!! WHAT!!”

A third person joked: “You mean you guys aren’t using notes and having the first item be extra big and bold?”

Another said: “But what about the 189 notes in my notes app of different lists?”

One person had an even better idea, adding: “Another fun tip: just tell Siri to add an item to your grocery list and you don’t even have to open the app.”

In order to use the grocery list feature, you’ll need to make sure that your phone is updated to iOS 17.5.

Once that’s done, you’ll have the option to enable the food categorization when you open a new list.
