Apple Vision Pro reportedly has major problem that could affect its launch

Apple Vision Pro reportedly has major problem that could affect its launch

Apple's upcoming Vision Pro has a major integrated feature problem which may cause problems in the run up to its official launch.

The upcoming Vision Pro, set to be released this February 2, is designed to immerse users in a virtual world.

Streaming movies and videos as well as integrating iPhone apps are just some of the Apple device's capabilities.

Despite this, Apple doesn't seem to have perfected the virtual experience as there's one major issue with the tech device that may impact its upcoming launch.

If you've had your eyes peeled on the Vision Pro since its announcement, you've probably watched the virtual keyboard demo, revealed at WWDC 2023.

The keyboard essentially floats in mid-air, allowing you to input text with your fingers and effortlessly type a message.

However, the virtual keyboard feature, which was intended to allow users to 'air-type', so to speak, is reportedly not functioning as smoothly as the billion-dollar tech company had hoped.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the feature is far less intuitive than anticipated.

He posted a tweet on X saying: 'The Vision Pro virtual keyboard is a complete write-off at least in 1.0.'

'You have to poke each key one finger at a time like you did before you learned how to type. There is no magical in-air typing. You can also look at a character and pinch. You’ll want a Bluetooth keyboard.'

As a result, Apple may not include this feature at launch, and users might need to connect a wireless keyboard to the headset instead.

However, Apple may not write off the feature altogether and may consider introducing the virtual keyboard in a future software update.

Apple designer Eugene Krivoruchko reported that it’s important to offer plenty of visual and audio feedback while using the virtual keyboard to compensate for its 'missing tactile information.'

Krivoruchko said: 'While the finger is above the keyboard, buttons display a hover state and a highlight that gets brighter as you approach the button surface.

'It provides a proximity cue and helps guide the finger to target. At the moment of contact, the state change is quick and responsive, and is accompanied by matching spatial sound effect.'

The Vision Pro will be available for pre-order from January 19 and will come with several free accessories. Curious buyers will also have the option to try out the device for themselves at Apple Stores.

Although, some Apple experts aren't so sure that that getting ahold of Vision Pro will prove easy as they might not be so readily available.
