When you've spent $80,000 on a vehicle like a Cybertruck (and that's with a recent price slash), we imagine you'd want to keep it looking pretty pristine in your garage. Cybertruck owners seems to be a different breed, and with Elon Musk's angular automobile pitched as what's effectively a civillian tank, owners are obsessed with putting them through their paces.
The infamous video of designer Franz von Holzhausen smashing two of the Cybertruck's 'armor glass' windows with a metal ball during its 2019 reveal will go down in history as one of technology's biggest 'D'oh' moments, but still, people don't seem to learn.

Even though the Cybertruck is billed as some sort of bulletproof machine of the future, we wouldn't recommend actually taking a gun to it. For starters, that's probably a pretty good way to void your warranty.
Adult film star Dante Colle decided to 'pump' his Cybertruck full of lead, but found out the hard way why this probably wasn't a good idea.
In a video shared to X, we see Colle taking his Tesla Cybertruck out into a field and unloading a handgun into the rear of the vehicle.
We're not sure what he though the result would be, but with a massive hole in the rear of his Cybertruck, it seems it's not as bulletproof as you might think. A clearly regretful Colle simply says, "F**k," when he realizes what he's done.

The Cybertruck's Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled stainless-steel body is supposed to withstand impact from a 9 mm handgun round, and although Colle confirms that the was the ammo he was using in the comments, his Cybertruck took a beating.
After one person in the comments said, "I don’t think there’s insurance for that. 😅," another simply said: "Idiot."
One took their own shots at Tesla and summed up: "This is what happens when you stage a bunch of videos shooting your product with carefully selected ammo loads you know won't pierce the sides.
"Some dipsh*t buys one and tries his carry piece on it and yep turns out stainless won't stop +P."
Musk once claimed the Cybertruck can withstand a .22-caliber rifle, with just 'small' dents apparently in the metal.

This has previously been put to the test by Zack Nelson, who's known for his JerryRigEverything YouTube channel.
Nelson put the Cybertruck in the firing line with weapons including an AR-15 and .50-caliber rifle. The latter cut through the door like butter.
Even if the Cybertruck isn't as bulletproof as someone like Colle hoped, Nelson seemed reasonably impressed and summed up: "The truck is still in one piece. There's a few ventilation holes now, but, overall, I am very satisfied with how bullet-resistant the Cybertruck is."
We know you like to get your money's worth and test that you aren't being oversold a product, but just because the Cybertruck is supposed to be bulletproof doesn't mean you need to take it out back and fire one into it.
