When you drive a flashy car, you can expect to have some attention out on the roads.
However, if you're one of the select few driving the new Tesla Cybertruck, be prepared for almost everyone to come up to you.
A Cybertruck owner is warning other owners to allow an some extra time on every trip, as there'll be a lot of stopping and chatting.

The caption on their Reddit post read: 'PSA: Allow for an extra 10-20 minutes every trip you take in this thing. You're going to love it.'
The OP explained: 'I took delivery yesterday in the DFW area. Every single place we stopped, 5-6 groups of people would come by to chat about it. I had 3 different people say something along the lines of, "I hated it in photos, but I understand it now that I am seeing it in person".'
'A gentleman who had a 1970s truck kept in perfect condition told me it was incredible and he wants one now,' the OP added.

Tesla's Cybertrucks were first delivered to customers in late November 2023 and as of December 2023, the futuristic electric vehicles are available only in North America.
So, it seems the hype will continue for the first few months like any major release from an industry giant.
The OP described the public attention as 'insane' pointing out that 'at every stoplight, 4/5 drivers in other cars would have their phones out taking photos or video.' While other Tesla owners would 'roll down their windows to chat'.

'I even had one lifted Ford truck give me the thumbs up lol,' he added.
Other users are agreeing with him, one comment read: 'He's not exagerrating. I saw one in San Francisco while driving. Cars would slow down to take pictures, some would tailgate too. It's going to be a really non-typical first few months for these cybertruck owners.'
The Reddit post has swept across other social media platforms such as X, whereby one user - The Cybertruck Guy - shared: 'Cybertruck owner: You will get mobbed in your Cybertruck. Allow 10-20min extra per trip.'
Another replied: 'It was similar when I got my Model 3 in early 2018. It was a low VIN and one of very few out here on the east coast, so everywhere I went people were asking what it was, who makes it, how far it goes, etc etc.

'I can imagine it's even crazier with something so unconventional and sci-fi looking! Fun times haha.'
