Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has made a surprising admission about her Netflix account...
There have been some recent grumbles about Netflix, and as well as outrage that it's waged war on sharing passwords, others have also vowed to stop paying their subscription costs due to price hikes.
Still, with Netflix boasting the likes of Squid Game and a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score from Adolescence, it's trying to prove you'll get plenty of bang for your buck. The streaming giant has used its original content to champion the price rises, and although the password crackdown caused some controversy, it added some 21.9 million subscribers and saw revenue climb to $18.6 billion in the aftermath.

Things have been on the up since, and in 2024's financial year, Netflix's revenue reached a jaw-dropping $39 billion (up 16% from the year before). We're waiting for the Q1 2025 financials, and although some think Netflix has been dethroned by Disney+, others say it's well and truly won the streaming wars.

With so much choice around these days in terms of Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Apple TV+, Max, and all the rest, it makes sense that not everyone can afford to pay for them all. Then again, as one of Netflix's biggest stars, we'd imagine you'd be stumping up the price of admission.
Having risen to prominence as Eleven in Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown has gone on to star in and produce a number of Netflix projects.

Speaking to Jimmy Hill on the Capital Evening Show, Netflix's own golden girl explains why she won't pay for a subscription.
After speaking to Bridget Jones' Leo Woodall, Hill asked: "You’ve done so many great Netflix projects over the years: Stranger Things, Enola Holmes, Damsel, and now The Electric State, of course, which we are talking about. But my question to you is, Millie, do you get a free Netflix account as part of this, or do you have to pay?
"Because I was chatting to Leo Woodall the other week – do you know the actor Leo Woodall? He said he’s still using his mum’s account."
Shocking many, Brown candidly said: "Yeah, do you know what? I’m like that too. I’m still using my parent’s account."

Even though she gets that Netflix bag, it doesn't sound like it stretches to justify the monthly cost of subscribing. The young star continued: "I’m still using my parent’s account. I kind of refuse to pay for the subscription, because my parents pay and I’m still a child in my eyes, and in their eyes. So yeah, I’m part of the family deal."
Notice how she was quick to say she's part of the family deal, clearly trying to distance herself from the idea of password sharing and suggesting she's been added as an extra member.
This was another brilliant brainwave of Netflix's password crackdown, letting households put an additional viewer onto the account for a slightly discounted price.
While Netflix continues to do well, it's not all soaring profits. Given that the Brown and Chris Pratt-led The Electric State has bombed after becoming one of the most expensive movies ever made, Netflix could do with her $7.99 a month right now.
