Jack Doherty gifts cameraman luxury jet-ski to say 'I'm sorry' after controversial $200,000 McLaren crash

Jack Doherty gifts cameraman luxury jet-ski to say 'I'm sorry' after controversial $200,000 McLaren crash

The cameraman was seen bleeding from his head after the YouTuber crashed

Jack Doherty has gifted his cameraman a luxury jet-ski to say ‘I’m sorry’ after he crashed his $200,000 McLaren sports car.

The streamer was recently banned from Kick after filming his car accident on a Miami highway on October 5.

Doherty sparked controversy when he got out from the wreckage and seemed to fail to check the wellbeing of his cameraman, who was bleeding from the head, and instead handed him a phone to continue filming.

He could be heard on video saying to the cameraman, ‘film with this phone too’, despite his injuries.

Moments before the crash, Doherty could be seen in the video using his phone while behind the wheel of the car before he seemed to lose control of the vehicle and collided into a barrier.

Since then, Doherty has faced a permanent ban from Kick and co-owner Adin Ross has said that the YouTuber would need to pay a huge sum in order for him to consider lifting the ban.

Ross went on to say: ““I was really upset that his cameraman got injured, and he put the f**king camera in the cameraman’s face and said ‘get the angles.’

“Somebody find me that cameraman and tell him I’m going to make it right.”

Now, Doherty has given his cameraman, Michael, a luxury jet-ski, documenting the gift giving in a video and referring to it as an ‘I’m sorry gift’.

In the clip, Doherty said: “He’s been wanting this for, literally, ever.

“It’s my birthday today, but it’s our birthday after what I put him through a couple days ago.”

Shocked by the present, Michael joked that the crash had been ‘worth’ the gift.

However, not everyone is as convinced that things have really been smoothed over, with some taking to social media to argue that Doherty is ‘bribing’ his cameraman.

Others have also suggested that the YouTuber has been generous with his present to avoid being sued.

In the YouTube comment section, one user wrote: “Here’s a jetski, please don’t sue me bro.”

While another said: “You don’t care about your filmer let’s be real, you’re only doing it because of the backlash.”

A third person commented: : “Bro’s bribing his filmer for almost killing him by texting while driving.”

A fourth claimed: “Bro thought this was gonna make us forgive him.”

And a fifth added: “You were still speeding in the rain while on your phone and other people were there that could have died.”
