It feels like YouTube is sometimes a wild and lawless place where anything goes, and while the streaming service tries to keep a lid on its creators, it seems they're constantly coming up with ways to outdo each other. Even though it's a lot more tame than Kick users dining and dashing on homeless people or Jack Doherty crashing his $200,000 McLaren while going live, there's a stranger side of YouTube away from the Nikocado Avocado trolling us all and Trisha Paytas' musings.

YouTuber Rosanna Pansino has grabbed headlines for apparently smoking her deceased father's ashes in her latest video.

Pansino is celebrating the launch of her new podcast called Rodiculous and, still feeling the loss of her father, she wanted him to help her celebrate the new venture. Many were left confused by the November 18 episode being called "Smoking my dead dad", but it seems that it's exactly what it says on the tin. Posting on X, Pansino explained: "We lost my dad about five years ago to Leukemia. He was the best. His dying wish was to be grown into a cannabis plant and be smoked.

"So, that’s what I did. The first episode of my new podcast, Rodiculous, is dedicated to him. Love and miss you every day, Papa Pizza."

There were some obvious questions, like the dangers of inhaling ashes from a body that's been embalmed and the potential ramifications that smoking someone's ashes could be considered 'abuse of a corpse.'

It seems that Pansino's title was a little bit on the clickbait side, as she had to clarify what really happened. Responding to one fan on X, Pansino reiterated: "Just a quick Correction: I did not smoke my dad’s ashes directly. You should never smoke ash. My father’s ashes were mixed into soil in which a cannabis plant was grown. I smoked the cannabis plant."

Responding to the video, there was a mix of appreciation and confusion.

One sentimental fan said: "I loved watching him guest star on your videos when I was younger, it's so cool that you're honoring his memory in the way he wanted. <3."

Another cheered: "What an incredible way of honoring your dad. I feel like it's his way of saying "hi" (high?) one last time. ❤️"

A third concluded: "Oh now this is a new idea for me. I always thought about being a tree but I think I want to be weed."

This isn't the only time Pansino has recently hit headlines, as she's been embroiled in a pretty public feud with Jimmy "MrBeast" Donaldson. After accusing MrBeast of editing her out of a video in 2023, Pansino then claimed she reported him to the FBI after sharing messages from the MrBeast Telegram Company Chats Logs.

From all of that to smoking a joint grown with her dad's ashes is wild. As someone in the replies to her latest video said: "The Rosanna rebrand the past few months is crazy."
