Man flies 17,500 feet into the sky using 'giant fan' in insane footage

The YouTuber used a powered paraglider to journey 'halfway to space'

A man flew 17,500 feet into the sky using a ‘giant fan’ in a fascinating video.

The brave man filmed himself using a paramotor - a powered paraglider - to reach an incredible height.

Documenting the experience for YouTube, the adventurer took to the skies with a propeller strapped to his back, and the views alone are well worth the watch.

Chucky Wright uploaded the video for his 86.7k subscribers on YouTube who were shocked to see the content creator take part in his ‘most insane video’ yet.

In the video description, Wright wrote: “This is by far the most insane video I have ever had the opportunity to live through and make!

“What was literally the coldest I have ever been, which is surprising considering I ice dive, and this is the highest I have ever been outside a plane!

“God is amazing and I'm sure heaven will be 10x this view! Can't wait till the next wild adventure and for everyone wondering this was all done in completely legal airspace!”

In the footage, Wright sets off after making sure he’s wrapped up in warm clothes in preparation for the freezing temperatures at 17,500 ft.

Talking to the camera, he said: “I'm about to be going through my first cloud ever, I'm not trying to literally go through it so I'm going to try to go down the perimeter of it.”

As he climbed through the sky, Wright gave an update, adding: “It is effing cold up here, dude holy, it is freezing not going to lie, I am freezing.”

Reaching his goal of 17,500 ft, the YouTuber was amazed at how ‘beautiful’ the view was, remarking that this was the ‘most epic thing’ he’s ever done.

However, as atmospheric pressure decreased at the high altitude, Wright found it increasingly difficult to breathe.

He took it as his cue to make his way back down, landing safely back on solid ground.

Reacting to his remarkable feat, many viewers took to the YouTube comment section to share their reactions.

One user wrote: “I was shaking inside the plane during my first ever flight and was so afraid to look down the window. This man sitting on a chair and flying 17500 feet is just incredible.”

Another said: “The fact that you can just strap a giant fan and a chair to your back and fly above clouds is insane.”

And a third person added: “Getting halfway to space with a fan and some cloth is just incomprehensible to me.”
