YouTuber tests America's two worst-rated airlines to find out which one is worse and you might be surprised at the result

The YouTuber flew on both airlines to determine which is the worst one

We’ve all endured a cheap flight on a low-rated airline to get from A to B, sharing tales of woe with friends about cramped legroom and being charged a fortune for a weak in-flight coffee.

We’re always trying to scrape together whatever value for money that we can and one man has taken one for the team in order to determine once and for all what he believes is the worst-rated airlines.

The YouTuber decided to take matters into his own hands by flying on two poorly rated airlines to find out which one he thinks is worse.

The review video was uploaded to YouTube by content creator, Eric Struk, which saw him test out flights on Spirit and Frontier - and you might be surprised at the result.

Documenting the experiment for his 1.79 million subscribers, Eric said to the camera: “According to Google, Frontier and Spirit were voted the worst budget airlines in the entire country but how bad can they really be and which is truly the worst?”

He shared how his flights were very early in the morning, adding: “It looks like we're just gonna have to suffer, in fact most budget airline flights are first thing in the morning because it is cheapest for them to use the airport at this time, so all of the stores were closed including food which sucks but that's what happens when you get to the airport at 5:30 in the morning for a 6:35am flight.”

Boarding his Frontier flight, Eric remarked how staff were ‘pulling people aside to make them size their bags and if bags were even slightly too big then people were being charged’.

On the plane, he described the seat as being ‘basically a piece of fabric over the top of a plastic tub’, before going on to add that the tray table was ‘the smallest thing’ he’d ever seen on an airline.

Wanting to see how Spirit compares, Eric boarded his flight, which was over an hour late, commenting on how the seats ‘by no means’ perfect but that there was ‘pretty good room under the seats for bags and plenty in the overhead’.

On the flight, he found that the bathroom was ‘surprisingly clean’ but the floors on the aircraft were ‘quite sticky’.

Offering his final review, the YouTuber revealed: “I don't think this one needs much of a debate because just like the reviews say, I'm gonna have to agree with them and say that Frontier was definitely the worst.”

Taking to the comment section to share their own thoughts, one viewer wrote: “I never thought I’d experience an airline more stingy than Spirit, until I flew Frontier, where they separate the zones BASED on whether you have carry-on, and make sure to let you know with extreme prejudice.”

Another said: “I've flown both Spirit and Frontier and I have to say Spirit was honestly fine, however the Frontier experience was horrible (we had to spend 7 hours at an airport instead of the 1-2 that was planned due to a flight cancellation).”

And a third added: “Spirit gets a bad wrap because that's the popular thing to do on the internet but I've flown Spirit countless times and never had any issues. Great for when you're just traveling light for a quick trip and don't need to check in bags.”
