Viewers have branded Cody Ko’s response as ‘scummy’ as he finally addressed the allegations against him after months of silence.

The YouTuber found himself in hot water earlier this year after fellow content creator Tana Mongeau accused him of having a sexual relationship with her when she was 17 and he was 25.

Since then, Cody has been quiet on his social media platforms but he has now made a return to YouTube.

In a video titled ‘34 miles’, Cody uploaded to his ‘Cody Trains’ channel, which has 272,000 subscribers - a much smaller following than his main channel that is followed by 2.14 million people.

In the video, he said: “I use Strava to track all my workouts and they give you a score and it's like a current fitness score, so my current score is 57.

“This is based on, I don't know, heart rate and other things.”

Showing a timeline of his fitness levels, the YouTuber shared how he plans to run a marathon.

The video followed his training schedule until right at the very end where he addressed the allegations against him.

He said: “I understand I've been offline for months, haven't made videos for, you know, that whole time and I also understand if your opinion of me has potentially changed over the last few months.

“I spent the first half of my career criticizing people and judging people online so I don't begrudge your judgment of me by any means.

“I just think all I can do right now moving forward, is just try to be the best person I can be for myself and for my family and just try to continue putting the best s*** out there that I can.

“So that's what I'm going to do and if you stick around to watch it I very much appreciate it from the bottom of my heart, truly.”

Viewers took to the YouTube comment section to share their thoughts and reactions to the video.

One user wrote: “Putting the non-apology at the end of an unrelated video on your third channel is so scummy dude.”

Another said: “I thought he was opening the video with his social blade LMAO.”

A third person commented: “Cody, the reason people’s opinion of you may have changed in recent months is not because you used to criticise and make fun of people online, it’s because what you did is wrong. It’s as simple as that.”

And a fourth added: “Bro testing the waters on the smallest platform he has... interesting tactic.”
