The video uploaded onto his YouTube channel was titled 'I’m Dead' and he started off by bluntly telling his audience, 'if you’re watching me, I’m dead'.
The Oregon-based creator filmed the video in December 2023 and it was released to the public by his family after his death on Tuesday.
The announcement was made by Harrell while he was sitting on a log in the same location where he’d first explained to his followers that he had stage 2 pancreatic cancer.

Previously, he had said that the cancer had been “caught early” and that he would “be here for some time”.
However, in his latest video, Harrell detailed how his health had taken a turn.
He said: “We did catch it early, but not as early as I had thought. It has spread faster than I thought it would. My time is drawing very short.”
He went on to add: “I had hoped that I would continue in this format for the next 10 or even 15 years.

“Even once I was diagnosed I’d hoped that we’d be here for at least two or three more years and that’s turned out to be only a few more months.
“My apologies for that. It makes me feel like I’ve let everybody down.”
The video ended with a message from Harrell’s editor and manager, Brad Nelson, who said: “I had the great privilege of having Paul in my life and having him as a friend.

Harrell was a guns rights activist and has used his platform to educate about gun safety as well as advocate for gun owner rights.
Fans took to the YouTube comment section to share their condolences after hearing the news, with one user writing: “Paul Harrell is the only man humble enough to apologize for dying, the world won't be the same without him.”
Another said: “Even beyond the grave, the sense of humor is dark but appropriate. We'll miss you Paul.”
