While one MrBeast interview has gone viral, its creator has issued an apology for his 'softball' treatment of the YouTuber, after many claimed that the conversation was 'garbage' and a 'puff piece'.
Jimmy "MrBeast" Donaldson is the subject of wide criticism at the moment, with focus on alleged cryptocurrency insider trading, accusations of child slave labor in the production of his Feastables bars, and also reports of mold in Lunchly products.
This has led him to come under fire from many angles, including an incredibly popular video by fellow YouTuber Coffeezilla where he delved into Donaldson's crypto investments.

This led MrBeast to sit down with Oompaville in an interview that stretched beyond two and half hours, and has garnered over 2.5 million views at the time of writing.
In the interview Donaldson addressed some of the allegations facing him right now, claiming that he has nothing to do with his crypto investments and they are instead handled by a professional.
"The honest truth is like, I make videos, I'm running seven businesses, I got a lot going on and yeah I invested in a crypto fund - they invested on my behalf and I've never had access to that wallet," Donaldson explained.

He also discussed accusations of child slave labor, which he claims to have addressed by working with Tony's Chocolonely, and also claims from his former employee Dogpack404 about the content of his videos.
Oompaville has since released an apology video following his interview, where he goes over accusations that his video was 'garbage', a 'puff piece', and that he only gave 'softball' questions to MrBeast.
He explained: "My philosophy behind [the interview] was: I'm gonna let him say what he wants, and this is going to be his form of response. If he is a hypocrite, and if people can prove him to be a hypocrite then so be it.

"I just don't have the 'dawg' in me, the journalistic integrity 'dawg' [...] I didn't mean for it to be bad, I wanted it to hopefully be a meaningful source of information."
This hasn't exactly spared Oompaville from wider criticism though, as fellow creator Rosanna Pansino - who has repeatedly highlighted MrBeast's controversial actions - argued that the video was: "A very favorable softball interview... also known as a "puff piece"."
Comments underneath the video are slightly more sympathetic though, with one user arguing: "If you're not a naturally confrontational person it's really hard to turn that on. Especially face to face."
"To be real for a sec," points out another, "I fully agree with the folks who have said Coffeezilla should have been the guy to interview Jimmy. That being said, do you REALLY think Jimmy would actually do that interview knowing how hard Coffeezilla slaughtered Logan Paul?"

Perhaps the negative sentiment has now bounced onto MrBeast himself, as the 'softball' nature of the Oompaville's interview has perhaps highlighted for some how Donaldson is unwilling to face a 'proper' conversation.
As one comment adeptly puts it, the interview "opened more cans of worms than it closed apparently."
