2025 is already a big you for Youtubers.
The (almost) unrivaled King of YouTube has just crossed another major milestone as Jimmy "MrBeast" Donaldson has seen his subscriber count climb even higher.
For those who've been hiding under a rock, MrBeast has been in the spotlight recently thanks to his engagement to Thea Booysen, the controversy surrounding his Beast Games series, and claims that he wants to run for President of the United States.

When it comes to the most-subscribed YouTube channels, Cocomelon - Nursery Rhymes is third with 118 million subscribers, T-Series is second with 283 million, and MrBeast is miles ahead with 341 million.
He's gaining an average of around 200,000 new subscribers every day, and with it, Dexerto reports that he's now got more subscribers than the entire population of the United States.
At the exact time of writing this article, MrBeast's subscriber count is 341,991,730.

This is compared to the current U.S. population which sits at 341,167,711. When the outlet shared the news, people couldn't believe this was the case.
Still, it shows how Donaldson's fame has spread far beyond the USA and given him worldwide appeal.
His most popular video is "$456,000 Squid Game In Real Life!", and boasting 695 million views, it's easy to see why he has so many followers. When you translate this into monetary figures, MrBeast is earning big.
In 2024, Forbes named Donaldson its creator of the year and estimated he earned a jaw-dropping $85 million last year.

It's not just YouTube where MrBeast has an impressive following.
As of January 2025, he has over 106.9 million TikTok followers, making him the third-most-followed creator on the platform. MrBeast also has over 63.9 million followers on Instagram and 31.4 million followers on X (formerly Twitter).
This is all in contrast to reports last August that Donaldson was 'bleeding' followers. In the aftermath of controversies surrounding Ava Kris Tyson, MrBeast's new subscriber count started to slow, although that hasn't seemed to affect his channel growth.

Looking at the past year of stats on Viewstats, MrBeast's video views have risen by nearly eight billion, while his channel subs are expected hit 342 million in the next four days.
It seems that controversies surrounding Donaldson are only bringing him to more people's attention.

Still, many can't believe that his subscriber count has overtaken the U.S. population.
Responding to Dexerto's post, someone wrote: "People saying "I'm proud I'm not one of them" but they know about him shows you the amount of reach he's got."
Another added, "It’s time to rename it 'MrPlanet'," and a third said, "How did he get to this level man."
Someone else concluded: "Say what you want about MrBeast, he’s giving Youtubers a good rep. He builds homes for the third world, gives money to the homeless, and soon he will run for president! Let’s be more like Jimmy."
The question now is, could MrBeast ever beat a billion subs on his channel? It might seem unlikely, but you never know.
