These underground tunnels of Las Vegas house thousands of homeless people who live in “savage” conditions.

A YouTuber visited one of the infamous tunnels to uncover the truth behind the underground world located just a stone’s throw from the famous Las Vegas strip.

Dubbed the “mole people”, these people have found refuge in flood tunnels and YouTuber Brandon Buckingham met with some of them to find out more.

On his channel, @BrandonBuckingham, he interviewed some of the people who are living underground in “savage” conditions.

In the video, one person revealed: “Five people died here last year”, while another said: “There are still people down here, we’re not monsters”.

There are thought to be around 2,000 people in the tunnels and, speaking to Buckingham, one woman shared that it was “savage” living there.

She went on to add: “They’re the third or fourth most dangerous tunnels in the world, partly because of the people but mostly because of the water.”

When asked what happens when it rains, she laughed and revealed, “People die”.

Speaking to the camera, Buckingham explained: “She's not making this up, every resident we spoke to warned us of the floods and one quick search on the topic makes it easy to see why.

“A violent river of water rips through these tunnels taking everything in its path with it, get

caught up in this and you'll most likely not live to tell the tale.”

One interview was with a man known as Jay, who said: “If you want something to change, sometimes you have to be involved in that, it's not gonna just be a golden platter to show up.

“I never picked up trash before, I pick up trash all the time now because I never realized how much of a problem it is.”

He went on to add: “You know everybody, they say, is like two paychecks away from being homeless, I've met some incredible people down here.

“The thing is like I said, never judge a book by its cover, you don't know who somebody is and I'm not saying all the homeless people are good or bad but it's easy to judge people or you think you know everything but you don't.

“Every day is like survival, you still have to find food, you're banned from everywhere, everybody hates you, I mean I hate being hated for what other people do, not all homeless people are bad.”
