We’ve all found ourselves down a rabbit hole of internet mysteries, scaring ourselves with true crime stories or reading spine-chilling facts on Wikipedia.

And one video posted on YouTube has taken it to the next level by sharing a list of places you can’t go to in real life but can visit on Google Earth.

The question is - would you want to visit them?

The terrifying sites are some of the most scary and mysterious places in the world and share some pretty dark backstories.

The first spot is Norman’s Cay in The Bahamas where the narrator reveals that there's a plane in the water, adding: “You may wonder what happened to this crashed plane and why has it never been recovered, well this plane was actually owned by one of the most evil men to ever live.”

The man was famous drug lord Pablo Escobar and the video goes on to detail how he was responsible for taking over 4,000 lives.

People were too scared to touch the plane and even the local government feared him enough to steer clear of it, so the plane has been left to rot in the water.

The second image is that of a white sedan lying submerged in a pond in Florida.

The chance-spotting of the vehicle on Google Earth solved a 22-year-long cold case of the disappearance of William Moldt who never returned home from a nightclub in 1997.

His car had crashed into the pond where his body remained trapped inside until it was discovered in 2019.

Another morbid sighting was found in 2020 in Antarctica where there appears to be a body visible that has been left in the snow.

It’s believed that a scientist from a research station may have got lost but the area is so remote that no one has been able to go there and find out what or who the figure is.

A further mystery lies in Irugwa, a tiny island in Tanzania, where you can zoom in on an area and be confronted with a door covered in red splatters.

Next to it is another door with writing that reads, ‘you trusted the wrong guy.’

No one seems to know who wrote it or what happened there.

A particularly gruesome spot you might not want to visit is located on what appears to be a normal street on Google Maps.

Using street view, you can see a row of very ordinary and quiet looking houses until you stop at one that is blurred out of focus.

The video shares that this is because it was “one of the worst crime scenes in America”.

The home belonged to Ariel Castro, an evil man who kidnapped three women and held them captive in his basement for over 10 years until one of them eventually escaped and ran for help.

Another strange sighting is situated in Fiji where just off the coast an unknown plane lies in the water with oil leaked from the engine encircling it.

Heading back over to The Bahamas, you can see some unusual metal rods sticking out from the sea floor, leading some people to speculate if this could be the lost city of Atlantis.

However, this mystery goes not go unsolved as the narrator of the video explains: “These mysterious underwater structures are actually a coral nursery. Fragments of coral are placed on metal coral trees, they then grow large and healthy enough to become coral reefs. This is a project being done by people restoring the coral reefs of The Bahamas.”

Traveling over to a small area in the Czech Republic, it appears to be a ghost town.

Zooming in on a church you can take a peek inside, but you might be in for a fright as it is filled with ‘ghost-like’ statues, some even sitting in the pews as if they’re real people.

Other spooky places include a possible kraken sighting in the Antarctic Ocean and a similar apparent glimpse of a Megalodon shark, which went extinct 2.6 million years ago.
