A tweet posted by Elon Musk six years ago has resurfaced and it has left fans shocked and speculating.
The Tesla boss took to X, or Twitter as it was known then, in 2018 to share a post that fans are now surprised to see.
The billionaire is known for being outspoken on the platform he purchased in 2022, often expressing his backing on right-wing political figures, including Donald Trump.

Earlier this year, he also spoke out against his transgender daughter, controversially claiming in an interview with Jordan Peterson that his child had been killed ‘by the woke mind virus’.
So, people weren’t expecting to see a tweet from him seemingly sharing some left-wing thoughts.
The official Tesla X account had tweeted a photo of their car at a pride parade, followed by the caption: “Tesla team celebrates Pride Month.”

This attracted a supposed negative comment that has since been deleted which prompted a reply from Musk, which read: “Then you will really hate that Tesla scored 100/100 four years in a row on LGBTQ equality.”
He went on to write another tweet, adding: “Don’t buy our car if that’s a problem. People should be free to live their lives where their heart takes them.”
He ended the message with a rainbow of heart emojis.

The sentiment has now shocked fans six years later, with many taking to Reddit to share their thoughts.
One user wrote: “Just a thought. Imagine if he basically pretended to be politically left because that was the target demographic for marketing electric cars for that period of time.

Now, he pretends to be conservative in an effort to market his cars to a demographic who previously wanted nothing to do with electric vehicles.
In any case, that would be f***ed but not any more f***ed than him actually believing the shit he is posting.”
Another said: “If Elon Musk was only paying lip service to the LGBT crowd, it make you wonder if a whole bunch of other companies are only using it as a useful marketing ploy as well.”
This received a response which read: “Capitalism doesn't care about any color but green.”

A fourth person added: “Sometimes I feel like the only middle aged white dude in the country who's getting less conservative (i.e., stupid) with age. Must not be rich enough.”
Musk has certainly made his views clear as of late.
