One pet influencer on Instagram has revealed her earnings from the past year, and many are left shocked as how much she's picked up from sharing pictures and videos of her pets.
It's no secret that in 2025 social media can be an incredibly lucrative career, as you see multi-million dollar figures thrown around for the biggest streamers and content creators.
Gaming streamer Ninja, for example, revealed the 'disgusting' amount that he earned during his peak, and YouTube sensations like MrBeast earn far more than a lifetime in just the last year alone.

What still surprises many however is how much so-called 'smaller' creators can pick up on platforms like Instagram, and thankfully one 'petfluencer' has given us a look behind the curtain that has shocked many.
Instagrammer 'through.the.lleaves', otherwise known as Chas, claims in that "pets are the new kids, plants are the new pets," and she's certainly been able to make a living from sharing her 9 different animals.

A recent post from Chas reveals her per-month earnings for 2024, alongside the total that she was paid for the past year after management fees were taken off.
Monthly earnings can very much fluctuate depending on how much you post and the brand deals that you take on, but she earned an average of $34,950 every single month.
This is very much not reflective though as some months she earned as low as $4,530 whereas others were nearing the $100,000 mark. August, for example, saw her pick up 'just' $6,000, but the next month this increased by over 13 times to $79,750.
Her highest earning month was understandably December as advertising budgets are at their highest, and this allowed her to net $94,500 to close the year.

In total her gross earnings were $419,400 for 2024, but she shows that this drops down to $299,629.29 after her management takes their cut. This puts her in the 97th percentile of earners in the United States, which is certainly not too bad for sharing your pets on social media.
On top of this, Chas reveals that "100% of this income came from only using my phone," and that "you don't need high tech or expensive gear to be successful."
That's definitely a huge positive to take from this reveal, as it shows that we all likely have the tools to create content and earn money like Chas, it simply takes the creativity and motivation to get started.

She has also set up her own program to help other creators get started in the industry, leading what she calls the '30 Day Petfluencer Challenge' that she undertook to start her own career.
This involves brainstorming a 'viral reel structure', maintaining momentum, sending pitches to brands, and using analytics to your own advantage, and it's great to see a creator sharing the wealth in this manner.
