Meta have enacted a major change when it comes to keeping hold of your Facebook content, as one specific type of post will now be automatically deleted 30 days after you've put it live.
Social media for many people is all about preserving memories and sharing key life moments with your friends and family.
Facebook one of the oldest and best when it comes to this format, with it's friend-based connections allowing many to post their life online.

While most opt to stay within the confines of text, photo, and the occasional video, Facebook's live stream format does allow you to share your life as it happens, and can be useful for certain specific occasions.

You can live stream a wedding or a birthday to ensure that anyone unable to attend isn't missing out, or you can simply use it to have a chat with all of your friends without calling them all individually.
As reported by the Metro, Meta's latest change does put these live streams at risk though as the parent company has now announced that all new live streams will be automatically deleted from the platform after 30 days.

On top of this, they're also working through all existing live streams on Facebook in waves, giving users 90 days to download their previous content or risk losing it forever.
Facebook claim that this is because "most live video views occur within the first few weeks of broadcasting," and thus keeping what amounts to large data files on their servers can be quite costly - especially if they're not being viewed.
However, this can prove troublesome for those who have captured major events like weddings in this format, and some users understandably view anything they put up on the social media as part of their online memories that they'd rather not lose.

Thankfully it's not like there's no option other than to lose it forever, as you can simply download the files themselves or upload them to the cloud, allowing you to keep whichever ones you value the most.
To do this, simply open the video you want to download, press the '[...]' button, and then select 'Download video'.
You can also mass download videos within a specific time frame to save time, and to do this make sure to select the notification that your videos will be deleted, press 'Download live videos', then finally 'Create file'.
Similarly, it's also easy to send these videos to any cloud storage that you have such as Google Drive or Dropbox, which you can do by selecting the 'Transfer live videos' button through the notification option, choosing the location to send, and then pressing 'Save'.
