The world of online dating can be a minefield as it is. Is your potential partner lying about their career, their height, their relationship history? What if they have a basement full of severed body parts? If that wasn't enough, you have to trust that they actually look like their pictures. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and while not all of us are swayed by looks, you're likely initially drawn to someone based on a first impression of what they look like.
Now, one of the internet's 'biggest catfish' has revealed the secrets behind her TikTok transformations and how you can make yourself look like an almost completely different person with just a few strokes of a makeup brush.

Canadian influencer Chloe Waters has revealed how she makes herself look 'Photoshopped'. Known for sharing her before and after videos, Waters explains how she's embraced her reputation as a 'catfish' and how she doesn't mind the typically derogatory term. She even boasted: "I am known as one of the biggest catfishes on the internet."
Waters' main hack is to use face tape to transform the shape of her face: "I like to use face tapes and makeup to alter my appearance, to look a little bit more youthful."
Saying, "It’s almost like Photoshop in real life," Waters claims it strategically smooths out wrinkles and lifts her cheeks.
She adds: "I love face tape, a lot of people are skeptical of it, but it works, why wouldn't it work? It's really pulling your face back."

Another trick is to 'plump' up her lips by pushing her tongue against her bottom lip to make it more pronounced.
Putting her hair down to cover the tape and then applying makeup over the visible strips, the comments on her video are full of those who were astounded by Waters' 'new look'.
Her most popular video has 115.6 million views, with one baffled person writing: "How did she went from 40 to 20?"
Another added, "Bro she went from mum to daughter💀," and a third said, "What sorcery is this???"

There's been a recent rise in the TikTok hashtag #facetaping, with creators sharing videos of themselves with a face covered in tape before heading to bed for 40 winks. The idea is that taping your face will prevent wrinkles in the long run.
While there's no denying Waters' talents, but according to dermatologist Dr. Lindsey Zubritksy, taping is only a temporary fix against the signs of aging when compared to something like Botox. Previously speaking to the New York Post, Zubriksy explained: "Facial taping only works when the tape is in place.

"Facial tape helps to hide wrinkles and pull and tighten the skin. It also helps to prevent movement of muscles that lead to wrinkles. However, it is not a long term solution and has no permanent benefits."
"For example, if it’s worn during the nighttime when we are sleeping, it won’t help to reduce facial movements that lead to wrinkles."
See, not every online 'catfish' is like an episode of the hit MTV series.
