What really happened to JFK? Is the Earth flat, and what’s going on in the Bermuda Triangle? The USA loves a good conspiracy theory, but up there with the Moon landing and 9/11, wild theories about aliens are some of the country’s most prevalent.

Now, President Donald Trump has shocked the world by claiming he’ll release files on all those little grey dudes with big eyes.

Some really think we could be on the cusp of The X-Files coming to life, with the President of the United States going full Mulder and Scully.

While Donald Trump has previously spoken out on aliens, the POTUS has just made some seemingly bombshell claims.

Moving away from the recent headlines about the Epstein files, President Trump discussed the idea of life out there in stars while aboard Air Force One and called out former President Barack Obama’s recent discussion about aliens. Trump told reporters: "He's not supposed to be doing that…He made a big mistake."

When pressed on whether he believes aliens are real, the president played coy and added: “Well, I don't know if they're real or not."

He even said that he could get Obama off the hook, explaining: “I may get him out of trouble by declassifying it.”

Trump went on to say that while the topic is talked about a lot, he "doesn't have an opinion on it.”

Obama sparked discussion back in 2021, telling James Corden: “When it comes to aliens, there are some things I just can’t tell you on air.”

In the aftermath of the latest fracas, the Commander-in-Chief took to Truth Social and said that “based on the tremendous interest shown" he will look into releasing all files “related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters.”

This comes after daughter-in-law Lara Trump claimed that the president had a speech ‘prepared’ to talk about the existence of alien life. Ironically, several supposed experts on the matter suggested that Obama’s podcast talk was teeing up a formal announcement from the government, with President Trump backing this up.

Previously, Trump told Logan Paul: “I have met with people, serious people, that say there are some really strange things flying around out there."

He then set tongues wagging when he told Joe Rogan: “There’s no reason not to think that Mars and all these planets don’t have life.”

Referring to jet pilots who’d apparently seen ‘strange things’, Trump was asked about the various rovers and probes on Mars that haven’t found life, concluding: “Maybe it’s life that we don’t know about.”

Trump has promised full transparency on the issue of UFOs and aliens, but whether people will get the answers they’re actually looking for remains to be seen.
