You could say Christmas has come early for Tesla owners.
The car manufacturer has announced its '2023 Holiday Update' that is being rolled out next week - and it includes some nifty new features.
First up is automatic 911 calls, meaning your car will automatically call emergency services if you're in an accident that triggers your airbags.

There's also good news for podcast enthusiasts out there, because Apple Podcasts has been integrated into the new update, meaning you can sync Apple devices and listen to your favourite podcast as part of the in-car entertainment. Last year Apple Music was integrated, so this just means more of your Apple multiverse at your fingertips.
In what's one of the quirkier additions, a custom lock sounds update means you can replace the horn lock sound on your car with something else - Tesla have somewhat hilariously suggested the sound of 'a screaming goat'.
For those of us who are challenged when it comes to parking, a 'high fidelity park assist' is being rolled out, which Tesla says will enable you to 'see a 3D reconstruction of your surroundings while parking'.

Gaming updates include the availability of tower defense game Castle Doombad, and Tesla Arcade updates to Beach Buggy, Polytopia and Vampire Survivors.
The new addition of rear screen bluetooth headsets will likely make long car journeys with kids more manageable, as you can pop on a show in the back seat and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet - while Tesla has also promised to deliver a new light show - the somewhat useless but entertaining setting which coordinates headlights and taillights into a syncopated display.
The list of features doesn't stop there - the new update also includes blind spot indicators (where the camera will let you know when your turn signal is on and a car is detected in your blind spot), as well as more live sentry cameras - these are cameras that let you see what's happening around your car when it's parked and locked. With the new update, you'll be able to see a total of seven angles around the vehicle.

Tesla also made headlines following the release of Netflix's apocalyptic thriller Leave the World Behind which features a multi-car Tesla pile-up after the cars self-drive themselves into, well, themselves as doomsday looms.
Also this month, the first Tesla Cybertrucks were delivered to customers, with the futuristic-looking model bringing a range of up to 340 miles and a claimed ability to be completely bulletproof.
The Cybertruck is apparently ‘built for any planet’ with its 35-inch all-terrain tyres and 17 inches of ground clearance mean it should be able to tackle larger obstacles. Maybe it would have been better if they'd featured in Leave the World Behind...
