Security is non-negotiable when it comes to your private property - and you can never be too safe nowadays.

Tech company Ring has launched a brand new video doorbell to keep intruders away.

It looks a little like a traditional Apple iPod except instead of a screen for a music playlist, there's a camera lens.

One notable feature of the upgraded doorbell model is its 'advanced' radar-powered 3D Motion Detection.

This comes as an upgrade from its predecessor which only used infrared sensing, and as a result, was quite inaccurate in detecting the difference between people and blowing trees in the wind.

The 3D Motion Detection lets users activate features like Bird’s Eye Zones and Bird’s Eye View, which can allegedly go up to 30 feet away.

The whole feature allows residents to see an aerial map of their property, showing them exactly where their visitors are coming from.

Users can also toggle the camera motion zones and accurately pinpoint where they want their alerts to come from around their homes.

According to the tech company, the Ring Battery Doorbell Pro sends motion alerts 'more accurately' than its previous models.

So, users might be happy to know they'll be bothered less with notifications every time a leaf blows past, and will have more control when it comes to smartphone alerts, according to Ring.

Ring also stated the Battery Doorbell Pro's camera offers 'ultimate image quality' with its 1536p HD+ lens with its capabilities stretching into night viewing too.

Instead of street lights interfering with the doorbell's image, Ring's Low-Light Sight feature enables it to show a crisp, clean colour image from the illumination of street or landscape lighting.

Ring has continued from its previous doorbell models in that it has full integration with Amazon's Alexa. Additionally, features like Package Alerts and Person Alerts still remain premium for subscription-holders.

Other features of Ring's latest video doorbell include full colour pre-roll footage which means you can clearly see who is coming to your door before motion sensing kicks in, as well as noise-cancelling audio for clearer call quality.

It hasn't been declared what the battery is like yet, but for reference, Ring's previous doorbells have usually lasted somewhere between six and 12 months before needing a recharge.

The new Ring Battery Doorbell Pro is currently priced around $229 (£199) and is expected to hit the shelves on March 6 in the US and March 20 in the UK.
