The world of luxury watches used to be one that we barely got a peek into - unless you were actually shopping for an Omega or Rolex, you probably wouldn't have known how expensive they can get.
Watch influencers and the rise of online auctions have changed all that, though, and we now know almost exactly how much the watch on someone famous' wrist might actually have cost.
So, what do the world's richest men typically wear?
Taking the three richest men in the world as our sample size, you should probably brace yourself for some ridiculous sums of money.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, French businessman Bernard Arnault - the CEO of luxury goods conglomerate LVMH - is currently the world's richest man.
Considering he oversees brands like Louis Vuitton and TAG Heuer, it's no surprise he's got an impressive high-end watch collection.
Back in January 2022, his son, Frédéric Arnault, posted a snap on Instagram of one of his dad's watches - a Patek Philippe Nautilus 5740 with a Tiffany Blue dial.
It's incredibly rare and Arnault's version could be an entirely unique model, but back in 2021 a similar model sold at auction for $6.5 million, giving a hint of just how much it might be worth.

This is clearly one of the most valuable watches you can possibly find out there, something that most people would probably leave in a secure vault forever if they owned it.
Not Arnault, though - he was pictured wearing it while playing chess with his son, so it's clearly something that he's willing to put on in casual situations.
Jeff Bezos is currently ranked as the second richest person in the world, which makes his watch choice pretty surprising. Despite owning one of the biggest yachts in the world and being astronomically wealthy, he's been seen wearing an almost modest watch.

OK, so his Ulysse Nardin Dual Time would still fetch an estimated $12,900 - according to South China Morning Post - and that's a huge amount of money, but compared to Arnault's choice it's basically restrained.
Moving on to Elon Musk, who lost his spot as the world's richest man just this month and is now ranked third on the list.
According to VN Express, he's been spotted wearing a Richard Mille 029, an oversized and modern watch with the sort of priced tag you might be expecting, too - around $250,000.

We also imagine he owns one of the special edition TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 SpaceX Chronograph watches, a limited edition his space company released with the Swiss watch brand back in 2012. If you wanted to get your hands on one of these special editions, it's currently being sold on AuthenticWatches.com for $9,995.
