With Jeff Bezos being the second-richest man in the world, and boasting an impressive $188.2 billion in the bank, we imagine his upcoming wedding to Lauren Sánchez is going to be something of an extravagant affair. It's been two years since Bezos got down on one knee and popped the question to the American journalist, and as the big day nears, people are dying to know more.
Jeff Bezos has made his fortune with Amazon and then Blue Origin, which made him the world's richest man from 2017 to 2021. As well as splashing the cash on a 30-carat engagement ring, Bezos is poised to spend big on a lavish wedding in Venice.
The pair is expected to tie the knot at an unknown date in June 2025, with Venice set to host the wedding of the year.

As reported by People, the Mayor of Venice has tried to clear up some of the rumors.

Bezos previously denied the rumors that they were hosting a $600 million wedding in Aspen, but now, Venice Mayor Luigi Brugnaro confirmed that the City of Water will have the honor of hosting them.
In a statement obtained by People, Brugnaro said: "The many speculations and fake news circulating about Jeff Bezos' wedding are completely unfounded."

Although it was expected to be a massive event, he claims only 200 guests will be attending and promised that there won't be any disruption to the city: "We are mutually working and supporting the organizers, to ensure that the event will be absolutely respectful of the fragility and uniqueness of the city."
There's no news on exactly where the wedding will take place, although previous reports suggested it would be on board Bezos’ $500 million superyacht called Koru.
Details are thin on the ground, and privacy is thought to be a major concern. Still, Page Six says that Vogue is angling for the exclusive rights to report on the event.
One media source said that while 'nothing is settled yet', Anna Wintour is circling the exclusive story.

The site talks about a supposed three-day extravaganza, with the guest list reportedly including the likes of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kusher, Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson, and Kris Jenner and Khloé Kardashian.
Bezos is said to have visited Venice a few weeks ago to meet with Brugnaro, with planning the star-studded event well underway. Sánchez's older brother, Paul, has compared the wedding to that of Princess Diana and King Charles, which was described as the 'wedding of the century' and pulled in a jaw-dropping global audience of 750 million.
It looks like we'd be mistaken for thinking Sánchez flying to space with Katy Perry was the biggest thing she'd do this year.
