Despite dying back in 1566, the legacy of Nostradamus is living large in 2025.
The French astrologer published his infamous book called Les Prophéties in 1555, seemingly mapping out the future of the human race from all those years ago through to 3797.
As well as being connected to everything from the French Revolution to the death of Princess Diana, Nostradamus has made some worrying predictions for 2025.

If the return of a great plague wasn't enough to contend with, Nostradamus predicts 2025 will see a giant asteroid wipe us out.
Despite modern skeptics claiming Nostradamus used bibliomancy (interpreting the past as the future) and that we fit his claims to events with 'retroactive clairvoyance', his popularity remains as people continue to read into it.
Even though Nostradamus is long gone, there's a 'Living Nostradamus' who is quite happy to take the former's crown.

Brazilian Athos Salomé continues to make a name for himself as the Living Nostradamus, and looking ahead at what's to come, he's changing some of Nostradamus' predictions due to advancements in technology.
Speaking to Femail, Salomé warned about a so-called 'turning point' that could be devastating for the human race. He explained that 2025 is when "humanity enters a vital turning point because of new technical achievements."
Although we're due to experience radical advancements in innovation, we'll also face 'unprecedented' challenges. Seeing how quickly artificial intelligence is evolving and the emergence of China's DeepSeek sending the AI world into a tailspin, it's not hard to see where Salomé might've got his musings.
Discussing what he thinks is on the way, the Living Nostradamus speculated: "This development constitutes a revolutionary change that will make classical computers unnecessary for particular operations.

"The current encryption protocols face an imminent danger that could cause instability in digital security."

As well as the entertainment industry being overtaken by AI-generated scripts and content, he suggests that deepfakes will usher in a 'new historical extreme of misinformation', while there's also the mention of the first Human-Machine Hybrid Olympics.
In terms of the latter, Salomé says that despite resetting human performance standards, it will create a moral issue: "The definition of athletic existence becomes uncertain because people can benefit from genetic enhancements and neural implant technology. The true nature of sporting competition vanishes away."

Beyond that, an obsession with virtual reality experiences could become a common addiction: "The excessive exposure to simulated digital environments has produced a society of people who become addicted to virtual realities."
To combat these threats, the Living Nostradamus warned: "Humanity needs to reassess its technology connection because the current situation is nearing its critical point."
Among claims he predicted the Microsoft global outage, Elon Musk buying Twitter, and cyber attacks on the Paris Olympics, Salomé has many fans. Talking about the future of man versus machine, he concluded: "'This is not just a war of men, but of machines, and in this aspect what comes next?"
