Covert surveillance, alien contact, or something else?

Are aliens really flying among us?

Unless we're talking about E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, we've seen enough sci-fi movies like Independence Day to know little dudes from the sky might not be here simply to have a chat with the human race.

With genuine fears that our humble planet could one day be overtaken by a race of invading aliens, a swarm of 'UFOs' in the skies above New Jersey is an obvious cause for concern.

There's been a bizarre epidemic of strange objects being spotted above New Jersey, and while some have joked it's aliens making contact, it appears to be a flock of drones from an unknown origin.

The FBI has said it doesn't know what's going on, with a spike of 5,000 reported drone sightings and 100 generated leads in the past few weeks.

Even Donald Trump has spoken out about the drones, and in a press conference from Mar-a-Lago, said: "Our military knows, and our president knows, and for some reason they want to keep people in suspense."

The future (and returning) President of the United States added: "Something strange is going on. For some reason they don’t want to tell the people."

Now, famed podcaster Joe Rogan has given his two cents on the sighting, saying he's 'genuinely concerned' after hearing a new theory about these flying objects.

Rogan previously reshared a video of White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby saying the SUV-sized objects pose no 'national security or public safety threat'.

He called this 'sus' and explained: "I want to believe it's adderalled up incels holed up in a basement f**king with 'the man' more than I want it to be aliens #iwanttobelieve."

He's back with a new theory, sharing a TikTok video from Saxon Unmanned's John Ferguson

While Ferguson says he doesn't think there's any 'nefarious' going on with the drones, he threw out his own theory that the drones are hunting a gas leak or possible 'radioactive material'. Rogan has backed this, writing: "This is the first video about these drones that has got me genuinely concerned."

Saxon Unmanned is a Kansas-based drone manufacturer, and diving deeper into his theory, Ferguson explained that the only reason people would fly a drone at night would be to look for something, adding: "If you think it's bullsh*t, whatever, that's cool. I don't want to spread misinformation, as we know that there's a lot of that going around."

Others joined Ferguson and Rogan in the theorizing, with someone responding to Rogan's post, saying: "There is a zero percent chance that the federal government doesn't know what's going on with the drones in NJ. The question is: what are they not telling us, and why? 🤔."

Another mused: "A while ago I read on a Telegram channel that Russia had hidden a nuclear warhead somewhere in the state of NY and that government agencies were/are secretly searching for it."

As Ferguson warns, there's a lot of misinformation out there, so we don't want to do any scaremongering. Still, it seems that most are on the same page that this isn't bulb-headed aliens stopping by for a quick chat.
