Jake Paul's hilariously blunt response to Tommy Fury pulling out of upcoming fight

Jake Paul's hilariously blunt response to Tommy Fury pulling out of upcoming fight

It could be time for a rematch

The boxing world sure loves a bit of drama, and we don't just mean when boxers are throwing punches or biting off ears in the ring. With all the mud-slinging and boxers puffing up their chests online, even the legitimate fights sometimes feel like we're watching The Rock ham it up for a faux WWF match.

If there's anyone who knows how to work the boxing scene, it's Jake Paul. The controversial YouTuber first stepped into the ring to defeat Deji Olatunji back in 2018, and since then, he's enjoyed an impressive professional career of 11 wins to just one loss.

Paul most recently (and famously) beat Mike Tyson in an epic bout for Netflix, and although he doesn't plan on hanging up his gloves anytime soon, he's confirmed he's retired from influencer boxing to solely focus on the pros.

As for Paul's single loss, that comes at the hands of Tommy Fury, with the February 2023 match billed as "The Truth" in Saudi Arabia. Fury controversially beat Paul based on a split decision from the judges, despite Paul knocking Fury down in the eighth round.

It sounds like Jake Paul might still be a little bitter because he's given a short but sour response to the news that Fury has pulled out of his next fight. The 25-year-old was supposed to duke it out with Darren Till, but now, Fury has pulled out over accusations of 'stupid' MMA tactics.

Posting on X, Jake Paul simply wrote: "Hahahaha."

Fury's last fight was against fellow Jake Paul rival KSI, but he was due to take on former UFC fighter Darren Till on January 18, 2025. There were chaotic scenes during a November press conference that announced the fight, with Tommy's father throwing water over Till after he was angered by the fighter's comments.

Taking to Instagram, Fury wrote: "I can’t believe I’m writing this but I am now not fighting Darren Till on January 18th 2025."

Explaining why, Fury added: "For the one simple reason being that Darren has stated over and over that he does not want to abide by professional boxing rules and that if he is losing the fight he will resort to kicking and other stupid MMA tactics."

Defending himself, he concluded: "I am a professional boxer, I have been out of the ring for over a year and I wanted this to be a great BOXING fight for the fans. I have wasted weeks in training camp."

He promised he's working hard to get a new and 'better' opponent for the same date, but at the time of writing, there's no news on who it could be. If Jake Paul is so quick to mock the situation, maybe the pair can settle some old scores with a New Year rematch? Some think this is exactly what's going on, with one skeptic writing: "Tommy pulled out because Jake has offered him more money calling it now."

Another said, "Jake Paul Versus Tommy Fury 2 incoming," and a third concluded: "Take that Tommy Fury fight @jakepaul."

With Mike Tyson being reportedly offered a record-breaking $700 million to fight Fury again, 2025 could be the year of the rematches.
