Fans are speculating that a recent tweet from singer and songwriter Grimes is about her ex, Tesla billionaire Elon Musk.
While Elon Musk isn't publicly dating anyone right now, the world's richest man sure has a colorful love life. From dating Talulah Riley to Amber Heard, marrying Justine Musk to having twins with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis, arguably his most infamous relationship is with the Canadian singer-songwriter Claire "Grimes" Boucher.
The complicated relationship between Musk and Grimes has been quite the roller coaster since they made their red-carpet debut at the 2018 Met Gala. They've since faced multiple breakups and reconciliation, share three children (including X Æ A-12), and even reportedly went house hunting in late 2024.

Despite plenty of headlines about behind-the-scenes drama, Grimes has defended her ex over claims that he cheated while gaming, and was then drawn into the accusations that Musk performed a 'Nazi salute' at President Trump's inauguration celebrations.
Boucher tends to keep things close to her chest when it comes to her ex, but in a cryptic post made on Musk's X (formerly Twitter), she's set tongues wagging.
During a now-deleted exchange between Grimes and the account under the pen name Aella, the latter says they got 'friendly with the anti-woke coalition'. Aella goes on to say: "It feels like they're walking off a plank into extremism and I feel frustrated by it.

"Being anti a bad thing doesn't make you right by default; righteous revenge is not compassion."
Grimes soon responded and seemingly threw shade toward an unnamed individual: "10000% - I feel like I was tricked by ppl pretending to be into critical thought and consequentialism who are acting like power-hungry warlords now and like cruelly enjoying the panic and suffering that obviously creates and it's disturbing."
This is the second time in as many weeks that Grimes is accused of making a thinly veiled reference to her ex. She spoke out directly during the inauguration fracas, warning those who demanded an answer from her that she's not responsible for Musk's actions: "I am not him. I will not make a statement every time he does something."
While Musk himself has denied he performed a Nazi salute and says the media is instead trying to paint him as 'Hitler', there's been a swell of support from white supremacist groups and he's been denounced by the likes of German chancellor Olaf Scholz and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Scholz called out Musk’s apparent support of European far-right parties, while AOC called it an 'abhorrent gesture'. In response, Musk called Scholz an 'oaf' and said AOC has '100% lost her marbles'.

Even if Grimes isn't directly speaking out on her ex's actions, she has made her stance clear.
Also taking to X, she wrote about a certain 'toxic' corner of Grimes fandom and explained: "If it wasn't clear - ****I very much denounce Nazi-ism and white supremacy*****. I am sorry I didn't take this more seriously sooner, I did not realize the extent of the issue. But it has come to my attention from some of yall that this has been creating a lot of trouble."
She's also previously offered her support to Musk's estranged daughter, posting about Vivian Wilson and saying: "I love and am forever endlessly proud of Vivian."
