Warning: Beast Games finale spoilers ahead
There's more controversy for Jimmy "MrBeast" Donaldson, and if you thought all his Beast Games drama had died down, you'd be wrong.
The controversial Squid Game copycat asked 1,000 contestants to compete in a grueling series of challenges in hopes of winning a $10,000,000 grand prize.

While they thankfully got to live, unlike those who are thrown into Netflix's fictional Squid Game, that didn't stop Beast Games from being called out as an uncomfortable social experiment.
If audiences being turned off by the brutal nature of Beast Games wasn't enough, some contestants made sexual harassment allegations while others tried to sue for 'chronic mistreatment'.
Beast Games marketed itself as the most generous game show around, and as well as $10 million being the biggest prize fund ever given away in a reality TV series, Donaldson was dishing out millions more in other bonus prizes throughout the 10-episode series.
The final episode came down to a grueling battle of wits between contestants Jeffrey Randall Allen and Twana Barnett.

Allen had to guess which of 10 suitcases Barnett had hidden the $10 million check in, and with him getting the right one, he walked away $10 million richer when Donaldson wired him the money shortly after. Well, we say $10 million richer, but that's not quite true.
In a report from Watcher Guru, the outlet claimed that Allen will only receive $5 million of the $10 million prize pot due to tax deductions and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Breaking it down, the site reiterates that because Allen resides in California, he's liable to the Golden State's hefty tax deductions.
Taking his gross prize winnings of $10,000,000, Allen is then liable for federal income tax at a 37% top rate ($3,700,000) and California State Tax at a 13.3% top rate ($1,330,000).
This comes out at $4,970,000 and leaves him with a final take-home after taxes of $5,030,000.

When Dexerto shared this fact on X, it caught the attention of Donaldson, who was quick to clap back.
The most-subbed YouTuber in the world gave a one-word response and simply wrote, "Only" with a crying laughing emoji
Responding to the tax deductions, one critic said: "Congrats to the IRS for winning Beast Games."

Another joked: "Amazing. So technically IRS is also competing silently."
Allen's story was a particularly personal one, with the 42-year-old entering Beast Games in hopes of funding research into the creatine transporter deficiency (CTD) that affects his 7-year-old son.
Given what MrBeast is worth, he's faced a fair bit of backlash that he could've given more to Allen. Then again, the point of Beast Games was to compete for a specific prize and it's not Donaldson's fault that the government is taking such a wedge from off the top.
In total, MrBeast confirmed that he gave away an eye-watering $25,019,995 during Beast Games' run. We're sure he'll try to top it if it comes back for season 2.
