There were more than a few awkward exchanges at the White House on October 8, with Dell co-founder Michael Dell and his wife, Susan, heading to the Oval Office to explain why children are the future to President Donald Trump.
Michael Dell founded the American technology company as PC's Limited in 1984, and with the computer giant recording record annual revenue of $113.5 billion in early 2026, it's still on the rise.
It's not just Bill Gates and Melinda French-Gates known for giving back, and as part of their philanthropy with The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, they've dedicated $10 billion globally to focus on children's health, education, and economic stability around the world.

The Dells appeared alongside Donald Trump at the White House on October 7, encouraging families to register for the expanded Trump Accounts program.
Chatting with the Commander-in-Chief, the Dells have committed an impressive $6.25 billion donation to fully fund seed accounts for 25 million American children under the age of 10. It was confirmed that 10 million of these accounts have already been successfully funded.
The U.S. government's Trump Account program creates tax-free investment accounts with a $1,000 seed deposit. This will hopefully grow over time and become accessible at the age of 18, with the Dells' contribution offering an additional $250 investment.
Speaking at the White House, Susan Dell said that she and her husband have received so many letters from parents, kids, and grandparents about how younger generations want to become doctors, engineers, and entrepreneurs, sharing what it means for them to have these investment accounts.
Reiterating that it's not just about the money, but that the money is there, Susan Dell said it's about "knowing that someone believes in you and your future, that matters just as much."

Imploring parents to make the most of the Trump Accounts, Dell added: "So to every child across the country, these accounts are for you. We believe in you, and we want you to dream big because we know you can make your dreams come true."
This clearly impressed President Trump, who asked if Susan Dell had considered a career in politics. Turning to her husband, the POTUS bypassed Susan and said: "Good job, Michael. Is she thinking about running for office?"
An awkward-looking Michael Dell simply said: "No."
Trump added: "I'll endorse her immediately. She has my complete and total endorsement."
It's fair to say that President Trump has a history of uncomfortable encounters, and the latest is going viral once again.
