17-year-old Troy Coleman who had been missing for 7 weeks is now being returned to his family.

The search for him has been ongoing since he was last seen on 21 May: His family had received lack of leads or insight into his whereabouts until he was spotted on a live stream.

Streamer FaZe Lacy was live on Twitch, in Miami, when he was approached by the teen from Mt. Morris Township, Michigan.

The teenager, shirtless and wearing a pair of bright green shorts, joked about with them briefly, before walking away back up the road.

Lacy didn't think anything of it at the time, but he later received an email from someone claiming to be the boy’s brother.

He explained his name was Trent, and had been looking for his brother Troy for months.

"He was wearing green shorts and they were making fun of him, he is not on drugs he is schizophrenic and he is 17 years old. If someone can contact me about this I would be so thankful, he has been missing for three months and his case was put on homicide in Michigan,” his email read.

Lacy then took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to update his followers on the situation, after he initially shared that he was spotted in his stream.

“He has been found and placed in a holding cell in Miami until he gets transferred back to Michigan with his family. The power of the internet is insane thank you guys,” the Twitch star wrote.

The Coleman family’s local police department also confirmed Troy had been found safe, sharing that it was planning his return home.

“The Flint Township Police Department would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everybody who shared the missing person information about Troy Coleman,” it wrote on Facebook.

“He has been found safe in Miami, Florida and we are working with local authorities to arrange his safe return to Michigan to be with his family.”

Prior to this, there were several reported sightings of the Michigan teen in May, but none of these were confirmed.

But now, thanks to the insane power of the internet, he's reportedly on his way back home.
