A YouTuber has demonstrated just how easy it is for private investigators to find out information about you.
British YouTuber Max Fosh decided to find out the hard way by hiring one to follow him for a whole month.
Even though the video was posted back in 2021, it still continues to shock people to this day.

Fosh has built his YouTube fame around unique and quite amusing experiments like cooking a curry on the world's hottest volcano to hatching a fish from supermarket caviar.
But his content took a darker turn with this investigation showcasing just how much of our personal lives can be uncovered without us realising it.
Turns out that even hiring a PI can be a challenge.
Since secrecy is their thing, Fosh had to get a friend to act as a middleman so the investigator wouldn’t know who he was tracking.

What followed was a month of paranoia as Fosh went about his daily life, completely unaware of when or where he was being watched. Until he met up with the investigator to find out what he was able to find out and how closely he was surveyed.
The PI gathered clips of the British prankster shopping, playing five-a-side football with friends and going about his routine.
Bear in mind that the investigator says he normally works for people looking for disloyal spouses or business partners, so simple surveillance like this is actually pretty easy.
There are days worth of footage documented, but the real shock came when the investigator revealed just how much personal information he had dug up.

The investigator's face was completely new to Fosh, yet the PI rattled off his full name, home address and even his parents' names.
Most shocking of all, the PI had managed to get ahold of Fosh's home Wi-Fi password and from there, he figured out the YouTuber's Instagram password.
The password revelations clearly shook Fosh, but they've also set people in the comments section below the video reacting to how easily the investigator found out such key details.

"I think everyone needs to have this done to themselves. People are just too lax when it comes to ones own personal privacy," one viewer wrote.
"This was incredibly creepy to watch yet very entertaining," another commented.
One good thing to come out of the experiment was the advice from the PI that people should 'use a password manager.'
That might not be rocket science, but it's probably worth considering if you haven't got one already.

Password managers can help you encrypt your passwords and enable you to use different ones for every website or app you log into. This is important as having the same password for everything can be an easy way for hackers to gain access to all your accounts.
And of course, be careful what you share both online and offline, you never know who could be listening.
