We're all aware how involved Elon Musk has been in Donald Trump's post-election plans, but a surprising admission from his mom has revealed some rather precise details about the pair's friendship.
Elon Musk, who arguably already has his hands full with X, Tesla, and SpaceX, has been handed a prominent role at the right hand of President-elect Donald Trump.
His role as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) alongside Vivek Ramaswamy has seen him pledge to cut $2 trillion from government spending in an aim to pull America out of what he claims to be 'unsustainable' debt growth.

The tech mogul has spent most of his time in recent weeks at the side of Trump, however, and his own mother has made some illuminating revelations about the relationship between the two.
Speaking to FOX's Varney & Co., Maye Musk revealed that the pair are always "in Mar-a-Lago or [a] SpaceX launch, and they just seem to be having fun. A lot of fun.

"And it's nice for both of them to have fun, and [Elon] really respects him a lot and is really happy that there's a future for America now."
Despite not having an official role in government, as DOGE is merely a 'private' advisory board, Trump and Musk have seemed inseparable, although you might not want your politicians to be described as having 'fun'.
Musk has even gone as far to describe himself a the 'First Buddy', but we'll let you decide how valid of a title that really is.
His mother has continued to assert how 'easy' his upcoming job is going to be, going so far as to sit in on meetings herself:

"[He's] very excited because it's going to be very easy, I sat in the back, I sit behind [Elon] and I like to sit in on meetings."
This continues a trend that arose during Trump's first term as President, as prominent members of his family in including his daughter and sons were heavily involved in key meetings and policy action.
How this will affect the 'efficiency' of DOGE moving forward, and what exactly Musk and Ramaswamy will do first is still yet to be seen, although it clearly must be easy enough for the Tesla owner to dedicate enough time to becoming the top Diablo 4 player in the world.

In a final bizarre statement, Maye Musk reveals that, despite being the world's richest man, she doesn't like people ascribing those labels to her son:
"I don't like the word 'wealthy' or 'billionaire' or things like that because I think it's degrading," she explains, "I think he's a genius of the world, and people are loving him for that."
Must be nice having a net worth of $348 billion and shying away from being called wealthy - although he does live modestly in a 'box home'.
