In a livestream posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday (July 22) Musk sat down for a chat with controversial figure Dr Jordan B Peterson.
During the livestream, he claimed that he'd been 'tricked' into letting Wilson undergo gender-affirming care when she was 16.
When asked about his attitude towards it, Musk said: "Going back to the so-called gender-affirming care which is a terrible euphemism, it's really a child sterilisation [...] It's child mutilation [...] it's evil. I think it's evil."

He also said he 'lost [his] son' because of it before proceeding to deadname Wilson.
Musk claimed that he'd been 'essentially tricked into signing documents' to allow Wilson to receive these medical treatments.
He said he signed the documents after being told Wilson 'may commit suicide,' but didn't have 'any understanding of what was going on.'
Musk concluded: "My son is dead. Killed by the woke mind virus [...] So I vowed to destroy the woke mind virus after that, and we’re making some progress."

However, Wilson has since branded her father's claims a 'lie' and told NBC News that she couldn't let the comments go.
"I think he was under the assumption that I wasn’t going to say anything and I would just let this go unchallenged. Which I’m not going to do, because if you’re going to lie about me, like, blatantly to an audience of millions, I’m not just gonna let that slide," she said.
"He was not by any means tricked. He knew the full side effects," she added, alleging her father read the documents at least twice.

She said that puberty blockers and hormone-replacement therapy helps 'save lives' and 'allowed [her] to thrive.'
Wilson has also spoken out about what it was like growing up with Musk as a father, despite him only being there 'maybe 10 percent of the time.'
She claims that Musk was 'cold' and 'very quick to anger,' also saying that he 'harassed' her due to her being queer.
"He does not know what I was like as a child because he quite simply wasn't there, and in the little time that he was, I was relentlessly harassed for my femininity and queerness," she said.

"As for if I'm not a woman... Sure, Jan. Whatever you say. I'm legally recognized as a woman in the state of California and I don't concern myself with the opinion of those who are below me."
