Elon Musk’s Grok AI chatbot ‘is tired’ of the billionaire and calls him a ‘significant spreader’ of misinformation

Elon Musk’s Grok AI chatbot ‘is tired’ of the billionaire and calls him a ‘significant spreader’ of misinformation

Musk has managed to alienate even his own AI creation

Tensions arise in X Towers, as even Elon Musk's AI chatbot Grok has turned against him, claiming that the richest man in the world is a 'significant spreader' of misinformation.

It'd be easier right now to come up with a list of people that Elon Musk - owner of companies such as Tesla, SpaceX, and X (formerly Twitter) - isn't feuding with.

The tech billionaire, who has seemingly become the right-hand man of United States President-elect Donald Trump, has made enemies in almost every area due to his abrasive and confrontational behavior.

Celebrities like Cardi B and Jimmy Kimmel, the infamous hacking group Anonymous, and even his own estranged daughter - you name them, Musk has probably fallen out with them.

Unfortunately for him, next up on the list is his very own AI chatbot Grok, specifically created for use on X if you for up the $8 a month required for an X Premium subscription.

When asked if Musk has 'spread misinformation to billions of people', Grok answered:

"Elon Musk has been involved in spreading misinformation on several occasions through his social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), which he owns and where he has a significant following."

It seems like Grok isn't the biggest Musk fan (X/Grok)

The AI chatbot then went on to list five separate points supporting this claim, involving topics surrounding election misinformation, the role of X following his takeover in 2022, alongside public and legal scrutiny he has faced.

Like any good argument Grok then lists the sources to support this claim at the bottom, citing references in CNN, CBS News, Rolling Stone, and others.

As expected, the reaction on social media has been wild, as many have been left reeling at Musk's own chatbot turning against him.

One user remarks that Musk is "probably already 'looking into it'," making reference to the tech mogul's regular response to what he deems to be 'concerning' information or news.

Some commenters apparently aren't even able to open the full Grok response, reporting that the app simply just closes whenever they try - although we were able to access the page with no issues on PC.

"How much time will pass before Elon 'fix[es]' Grok to give 'right' answers" proposes one post on the topic, and it does certainly make you want to keep your eyes on how the situation evolves.

It's good to know that even with severe misinformation allegations coming his way, Musk still can't prevent his own chatbot from spreading what many consider to be the truth of the matter. With the number of sources cited too, it's hard for people to deny.

You'd think that Musk would find it tough to be bothered by something like this with an increase of $26bn to his net worth following the election, but we're sure he'll find a way somehow if recent weeks are anything to go by.

Who knows, maybe we'll start hearing about Grokaganda soon.
