We all like getting something for free, and while PlayStation Plus isn't exactly free because we have to pay a monthly subscription for the gaming service, it can often surprise by reminding us why it's worth the cost of admission.
While there's been a long debate about the pros and cons of PlayStation versus Xbox, one of the big wins in the Green Team's favor is the vault of titles contained in Xbox Game Pass. PlayStation Plus has long trailed behind this, and while the (now-defunct) PlayStation Plus Collection briefly gave us Fallout 4, Batman: Arkham Knight, and The Last of Us Remastered, it tends to be a case of finding a few diamonds in the rough when it comes to the standard PS Plus.
After a bumper March 2025 that gave PS Plus 'Extra' gamers Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, another certified banger is on the way in April. You'll just have to wait a bit longer.

Ironically, both the Extra tier of PlayStation Plus and the Ultimate tier of Xbox Game Pass are being gifted Dogubomb's Blue Prince on April 10. April's Essential tier is already stocked with Sumo Nottingham's The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Teyon's RoboCop: Rogue City, but if you're paying a little more, you can check out Blue Prince for yourselves.
Currently boasting a Metacritic score of 92, Blue Prince is one of 2025's highest-rated new releases. Already being dubbed a potential Game of the Year winner, Blue Prince takes you to the mysterious Mt. Holly and its shifting rooms, described as a "genre-defying experience, filled with a unique mix of mystery, strategy, and puzzles that weave together to create an unpredictable journey."
The question is, will you ever reach the rumored Room 46?

Praising Blue Prince, GAMINGBible said: "It’s an endlessly captivating labyrinth of twists and turns, with a world that will crawl inside your head and refuse to leave until you’ve finally wrestled its final secrets into submission. And believe me: it’ll take you a while to do that."
Giving a similar 100/100 score, Digital Spy added: "It's so good that labelling this as one of the best puzzle games of all time feels like a disservice. Instead, it's possibly the most memorable experience I've ever had playing a game and I can't stop thinking about it."

This was echoed by Gameliner, concluding: "Blue Prince is a strategic masterpiece with much more to it than meets the eye. Each playthrough feels unique thanks to the draft system, while permanent upgrades preserve your progress. Without a doubt, this is one of the best games of the year."
If you weren't already sold, ex-PlayStation Head of Indies Shuhei Yoshida took to X and declared that Blue Prince could be an early GOTY contender.
At the time of writing, Blue Prince is still just ahead of Hazelight's Split Fiction, which has an equally impressive 91/100 on Metacritic.
While it's rare for PS Plus and Game Pass to get titles on the same day, the gaming rivals previously added Sea of Stars on the same day in 2023. With Blue Prince set to soar upon release, check it out for yourselves.
