As the rumoured release date for Nintendo’s next-gen console edges closer, more and more leaks about the console's hardware and cost are starting to pile up. It's just a matter of which ones to believe.
Last week, accessory maker Genki showcased a supposed Nintendo Switch 2 case at the CES convention with the model looking pretty much like a Nintendo Switch just slightly larger.
Many fans thought this leak might persuade Nintendo to speed up their official reveal but to their disappointment, Nintendo told CNET Japan: “The gaming hardware that Genki is claiming to be Nintendo hardware at CES is unofficial and was not provided to the company by Nintendo.”

Now, another rumour is making the rounds on X (formerly Twitter), this time on pre-orders and pricing.
According to screenshots shared from a Discord server via Switch2Stock, a user called DoNotDisturb claims to have insider info from an employee at French game retailer Micromania.

The intel claims that 'the prices we see on the net are wrong,' with the alleged Micromania employee claiming that the console will be priced at €399 'unless Nintendo changes anything at the last minute.'
A provisional list of 25 games is supposedly also ready to launch with prices from €69 to €79.
"The list of games is coded, and I can confirm that the price of the Nintendo Switch Online will increase,” the Discord user continued.
Pre-orders are supposedly ready to roll with the employee also teasing 'the first Nintendo exclusive game'.

The leaker teased one of the exclusives, hinting that it might be set in 'on another GALAXY OR maybe on a road with lots of COLORS''. Could we see the return of Rainbow Road?
They also mentioned that a limited-edition console will come bundled with one of Nintendo’s first-party games.
While an earlier leak suggested Nintendo might unveil the console as early as January 17, the Game Awards on January 1 indicated an announcement could happen anytime between January and March this year.

The post ended with that they 'couldn't say anything more' without risking their job but the pre-orders may come around sooner than expected.
However, the more sceptical-minded have joined the discussion to debunk the leaks.
Nintendo Prime quickly shot down the rumours after supposedly speaking to the original poster, claiming their info was 'fake'.
He replied to the original post, writing: "This is going around - I talked to the guy who posted this - it seems to be fake. A staff member at the store has debunked it. Gotta be careful out there right now."

This could either be true or an attempt to throw us off guard and stop us from guessing. Either way, these kinds of leaks are best taken with a pinch of salt!
