A mobile gaming settlement deadline hits 30 January, here's how to claim your share of $15 million.

Mobile gaming has exploded into a multi-billion-dollar industry, with millions of people worldwide tapping away on their phones to chase high scores and compete for cash prizes. But what happens when those promises don't quite match reality?

We've already seen major legal battles cause a stir in the mobile world. Just recently, a $95 million settlement was reached after Google and Apple users sued over privacy violations.

According to the lawsuit, millions of private conversations were listened and recorded by the tech giants without the users' knowledge.

Now, another massive lawsuit has resulted in a significant payout for players of a hugely popular mobile game.

If you've ever played Solitaire Cash, you might be entitled to a piece of a $15 million class-action settlement. But the clock is ticking.

According to SensorTower, 'Solitaire Cash' ranked 50th on the 'Top Free iPad Apps' chart and 12th on the 'Top Free iPhone Apps' chart in the 'Games/Card' category in the US last year.

Papaya Gaming, the company behind Solitaire Cash and titles like Bubble Cash, Bingo Cash, 21 Cash, and Triple Match Cash, allegedly misled players into believing its games were 'purely skill-based competitions.'

However, it seems that the games allegedly used 'bots' to compete against players in contests, the lawsuit stated.

Papaya Gaming agreed to settle the case for $15 million, although the company 'denies all claims alleged against it and denies all charges of wrongdoing or liability.'

“Papaya initially denied the allegations while simultaneously arguing that even if it was using bots, there was no harm and no misrepresentation taking place,” PokerScout reported.

Who qualifies for the settlement?

The settlement applies to members who had a Papaya account and deposited money into any of their apps between 1 January 2019 and 5 September 2024. If you're eligible, you can choose to receive your share either as actual cash or as in-game currency.

How to claim your share

To receive a payment from the settlement, eligible members must submit a valid claim form by 30 January 2026. The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for 2 March 2 2026.

The exact amount each person gets will depend on how many people file claims and how much each individual deposited into the games.

The settlement states: "If you have an Active Papaya Account, you will receive an In-Game Cash distribution without submitting a claim form."
