For many people, voice assistants like Siri and Alexa have become vital parts of their lives.
Whether they're controlling devices in your smart home, selecting your music playlists or helping out with chores like grocery shopping, they can provide valuable services.
The question remains though – which one is the best?

YouTuber Mrwhosetheboss decided to put this question to rest once and for all by subjecting four major AI voice assistants to a gauntlet of tests to find out which one truly makes your life easier.
The four voice assistants, namely Google Assistant, Apple's Siri, Samsung's Bixby and Amazon's Alexa, were put through a battery of 65 tests.
The tests began simply, with some basic math problems.

Even the trickier ones, with multi-stage calculations, or tasks such as converting measurements like cups to milliliters were no problem for any of the AI assistants - though splitting a bill between three people did prove to be a hurdle for three out of four.
Next, Mrwhosetheboss looked at device control to see which virtual assistant was best at controlling your smartphone using only voice commands. Here, Alexa started to run into problems, while Google made some ground.
Casting the net a little more broadly, a test involving a Ring doorbell and an adorable ginger cat was no problem for Alexa, Google and Bixby, but Apple’s more restricted ecosystem reared its head here, as Siri is simply incompatible with Ring doorbells.

This opened the door to testing how much control these assistants could exert over third-party apps. Examples tested included clock and alarm apps, maps and photos. Between this and internet queries, Google Assistant was beginning to build up a substantial lead over its competitors.
The toughest test involved creating a ‘routine’. This is a whole series of commands that the smart assistant has to follow.
These can even be based on the users location, so Mrwhosetheboss did just that, such as setting the phone to connect to in-car bluetooth, begin playing music and activate traffic detection.

Finally, the results were in, and the winner was clear.
With 52 tasks completed successfully out of 65, Google Assistant received the crown as best AI assistant.
This is not to say that the others don’t have their good points, though. Mrwhosetheboss had some surprising praise for dark horse candidate Samsung Bixby, which has an excellent suite of tools for managing bad habits.
