Have you ever done something incredibly dumb, but then it's too late to take anything back?
That unfortunately happened to one Reddit user, and the innocent casualty was their iPhone.
The user brisbaneburger posted the incident on the iPhone subreddit - which is described as 'Reddit's little corner for iPhone lovers'.

The caption read: 'Do NOT stick anything adhesive on your back glass', and the accompanying picture is a bit of a horror show.

It shows an iPhone with part of the back glass ripped out and littered with cracks. It's so bad, you can even see the inner workings of the phone - which is never something you want to actually be able to see.
We can only imagine the Redditor stuck a back holder grip to their phone - plastic circles that have become increasingly popular in recent years - and in trying to get it off, the end result was absolute carnage.
But one Redditor asked an incredibly valid question: "Why would you do that without a case"?
And fair play to the original poster, who replied: "My IQ was low that day."

But it's not like they'd immediately ripped at their phone - the Redditor also divulged everything they'd tried before getting to that unfortunate point: "Used a credit card, tweezers, cooking oil, unisolve, tooth floss and a credit card. Nothing could get it off. There was already a crack in the back anyway so figured might as well just rip it off with the tweezers since the back glass would need to be replaced anyway."
While it's an unfortunate situation for the iPhone owner, other Redditors are finding the whole situation a bit more hilarious.
"That should buff right out," one person joked.

"Put it in some rice. It’ll be fine," another 'helpfully' suggested.
It's a lesson to us all - never stick an adhesive straight onto your phone - if you do want to attach something to the back, it's worth investing in a case first.
And it's not the only thing you'll want to avoid getting on your iPhone. Apple says: 'Clean your iPhone immediately if it comes in contact with anything that might cause stains or other damage — for example, dirt or sand, ink, makeup, soap, detergent, acids or acidic foods, or lotions.'
If you do want to give your iPhone a bit of a clean (and let's face it, when was the last time you did that?) these are Apple's guidelines:

- Unplug all cables and turn off your iPhone.
- Use a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth — for example, a lens cloth.
- Avoid getting moisture in openings.
- Don’t use cleaning products unless following the instructions for disinfecting your iPhone.
- Don't use compressed air.
The tech giant also says to avoid cleaning products and abrasive materials, as they 'will diminish the coating and might scratch your iPhone'.
