If your iPhone is starting to lose its charge more quickly than you'd like, there might be one very easy way to fix that, according to an ex-Apple employee.
TikTok creator Tyler Morgan, who has 1.3m followers, revealed the jokey tip before reeling off some more practical ideas.
He opens the video by saying, "Wanna save battery on your iPhone? Break your iPhone."

While that might sound stupid, he then clarifies that you should only do this if you're paying for AppleCare+, and it goes without saying, you should check what you're covered for thoroughly.
This protection plan entitles you to cheap or even free repairs on your phone when you take it to an Apple store, and it might mean that you can get a free battery replacement if your phone is broken.
Of course, that's a bit of a risky move, so he thankfully has more useful and normal battery-saving tips to share, too.

These include turning off your Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings when you're not using your phone, since this will stop your phone constantly scanning for new networks or devices to connect to.
Another tip he gives is to avoid charging your phone if you don't actually need to - if you go to bed with your phone still at a healthy level, Morgan recommends leaving it overnight rather than charging it for too long.
He also says that stopping your phone charging at 80% is a good way to lengthen its battery lifespan, something that Apple now offers as an actual setting that you can turn on if you like, since it's so popular. This is only available on iPhone 15 models, though.

He also warns people not to turn their phone off to save battery - this isn't something that phones are designed for nowadays, and it can actually have the opposite effect. Similarly, he reminds viewers that there's no point closing background apps on iPhones anymore since this doesn't really do anything.
Viewers in the comments under Morgan's video are pretty split on his somewhat high-maintenance recommendations, too, with one person replying: "Good tips but honestly not worth it, just charge your phone however you want, life’s to short to stress over a battery".
Another also disagrees with the central idea of the tips, writing: "Why not charge to 100 I paid for 100% of the battery I will use 100%".
That's actually a pretty hard attitude to argue with, so it basically comes down to personal preference whether you think Morgan's tips are worth bothering with.

And always read the official Apple advice online too. The Apple UK support page clearly states: "AppleCare+ products are available only for iPhone and its original included accessories.
"Both AppleCare+ products provide protection against (i) batteries that retain less than 80% of their original capacity, and (ii) unlimited incidents of accidental damage."
